Portora Lock

Essential Maintenance

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels that The Rivers Agency are undertaking essential bank maintenance immediately upstream of  Portora lock. There is expected to be some disruption to traffic over the period of maintenance. Masters are requested to follow instructions given by the onsite safety boat.

Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause its customers.

Marine Notice No. 10 of 2013 refer.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the closure of the Grand Canal from the Kilbeggan Bridge to Coxes Bridge has been extended from 15th March until 27th March 2013 in order to facilitate completion of works.

Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.
