Barrow Navigation – Levitstown Lifting Bridge

Reopened after emergency repair works

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and water users that Levitstown Lifting Bridge has reopened after emergency repair works.

Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused and wishes to thank its customers for their cooperation.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne und Wassernutzer darüber informieren, dass die Levitstown Lifting Bridge nach dringenden Reparatur-arbeiten wieder geöffnet ist.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehm-lichkeiten und bedankt sich bei seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation.

Planned removal of vessels from:

Grand Canal, Royal Canal & Barrow Navigation

Canal Act 1986 (Bye-Laws) 1988

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that:

    • Vessels with no permit, Bye Law 6(8)
    • Vessels non-attended and apparently abandoned, Bye Law 6(8)
    • Vessels doubled moored and causing obstruction (sunk), Bye Law 27 (3)
    • Vessels deemed to be / likely to cause a hazard to navigation, Bye 33(3),

will be removed from the Grand Canal, Royal Canal and Barrow Navigation, commencing 04th May 2022. Removed vessels may then be subsequently disposed of in accordance with Bye Law 34(2).
Classes of vessels mentioned above have been stickered (given suitable access). Owners (where known) have received communication. A copy of this Marine Notice will be left on board all non-compliant vessels (given suitable access).

Levitstown Lifting Bridge – Closure due to emergency works

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and water users that Levitstown Lifting Bridge is closed with immediate effect. Emergency repair works are currently underway. Further updates will be issued as they become available.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne und Wasserbenutzer darauf hinweisen, dass die Levitstown Lifting Bridge mit sofortiger Wirkung gesperrt ist. Derzeit werden dringende Reparaturarbeiten durchgeführt. Weitere Informationen werden veröffentlicht, sobald sie verfügbar sind.

Rooskey Bridge and Lock – Power Supply Interruption

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and water users that Rooskey Lifting Bridge and Rooskey Lock will be without power supply on Friday 15th April 2022, from 9am until 4pm, due to a notified ESB power supply Interruption in the village.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused and wishes to thank its customers for their cooperation.

Rooskey-Brücke und Lock – Unterbrechung der Stromzufuhr
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne und Wassernutzer darauf hinweisen, dass die Rooskey Hebebrücke und die Rooskey Schleuse am Freitag, den 15. April 2022, von 9.00 bis 16.00 Uhr aufgrund einer gemeldeten Unterbrechung der ESB-Stromversorgung im Ort ohne Strom sein werden.
