Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that long distance swimming races will take place on Sun 7 Aug from 1000hrs to 1530hrs at Coosan Point. See image attached.
Masters of vessels are requested to keep a sharp look-out for swimmers in the water, proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when in this section of the navigation and note any advice from safety boat officials.

Culvert Collapse between Locks 22 (Glenaree Bridge) and 23 (Spencer Bridge)
Marine Notice No. 85 of 2016 refers. Extensive repairs are required as a result of the collapsed culvert to restore this section of the canal to full operational use.
It is anticipated that this work will be protracted. A further Marine Notice will issue when a timescale for repairs becomes clearer.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the navigation between Lough Scur and Lock 9, Kilclare on the Shannon-Erne Waterway is closed to boat traffic from today, Tuesday 2nd August 2016 for emergency repair works.
A Marine Notice will be issued when the navigation is reopened.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Lock 5, Ardrum, Ballinamore on the Shannon-Erne Waterway will be closed to boat traffic on Thursday 4th August 2016 for unscheduled repair works.
The lock will be closed from 09:00 and will remain closed until repair works are completed. It is anticipated that works will be completed and the lock reopened in the afternoon.
