Head of River Rowing Race

Sat 5th. Mar 2016

Masters and owners are advised that the Portora Boat Club “Head of River” race will take place on Sat 5th. Mar 2016 from 09.00 hrs until 17.00hrs, the course will stretch from Culkey downstream to finish at the Portora Boat House, Enniskillen.
Masters of vessels are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when passing this stretch of the navigation and to heed any advice or instructions issued by the regatta officials.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Buckingham Sea Lock at Grand Canal Dock is currently non-operational due to a hydraulics defect and is currently closed to boat traffic.
Repairs will be undertaken as soon as possible and a further notification issued when it is due to re-open.
Waterways Ireland apologises to its customers for this inconvenience.

Ballina Floating Moorings

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all users that the floating moorings located downstream of the Killaloe-Ballina town bridge, on the Ballina side , are closed to the public due to damage as a result of high water levels and storms.

Arthur’s Quay Floating Breakwater

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that the floating breakwater located adjacent to Arthur’s Quay mooring at the entrance to the Abbey River has carried away and will remain secured at the entrance to Sarsfield’s Lock downstream of the weir until repairs can be effected. A further Marine Notice will advise.
Masters should proceed with the utmost caution when navigating in this section of the navigation and do so only when there is minimum flow.
