ERNE NAVIGATION

ENNISKILLEN – FIREWORKS

Waterways ireland wishes to advise all masters and users of the Erne Navigation that a Fireworks display will take place at Castle Island, Enniskillen on mon 31st. Oct from 8.00 p.m. To 8.30 p.m.

Masters of Vessels are advised that there will be no mooring permitted at the Waterways Ireland Head Office mooring nor at the Henry Street Public Jetties on the day of the event in the interest of public safety. Navigation in the vicinity of Castle Island is also prohibited for the duration of the event. Alternative mooring is available at the forum and regal pass jetties with easy access to event vantage points.

Instructions from safety vessels must be adhered to at all times

Temporary CLOSURE

of Public Jetty and Slipway

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all users that the public mooring jetty and slipway at Carry Bridge on Upper Lough Erne will be closed for improvement works from 30th March until the end of the end of May 2016.

Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause its customers.

Castle Island – Water Activity Area

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and users of the Erne System that the channel east of Castle Island, Enniskillen will be closed for the months of May to September inclusive.
This is to create a safe water activity space for use by clubs, events and the public.
Mariners should use the navigation channel to the west of Castle Island and proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash adhering to any instructions or displayed signage.

Enniskillen to Ardhowen Theatre
Canoe Time Trials

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise owners and masters that the Erne Paddlers will conduct a Time Trial on Sun 9th March 2014 Starting at 11am and finishing at  3.00pm,the course Start/Finish will be at the Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen, going upstream on the Erne River for 2.5km towards Ardhowen Theatre and returning.
Masters of vessels are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when passing this stretch of the navigation and to heed any advice or instructions issued by the event officials.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.
