Dredging Operations

Waterways Ireland wishes to inform masters of vessels and waterway users on the Erne System that dredging operations on the Kesh River are continuing.at the mouth of the Kesh River (West Section) has been completed this week.
Dredging on the two river sections (Central and East) will commence on 29 August 2023 and continue until 22 September 2023. During this time the river will be closed to boating traffic from 0800hrs to 18:00hrs on Mondays to Fridays.

Erne-System, Lower Lough Erne, Kesh Fluss, Ausbaggerungsarbeiten
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen und die Nutzer von Wasserstraßen im Erne-System darüber informieren, dass die Ausbaggerungsarbeiten am Kesh River fortgesetzt werden. Die Baggerarbeiten an der Mündung des Kesh (Westabschnitt) wurden diese Woche abgeschlossen.
Die Baggerarbeiten an den beiden Flussabschnitten (Mitte und Osten) werden am 29. August 2023 beginnen und bis zum 22. September 2023 andauern. Während dieser Zeit wird der Fluss montags bis freitags von 08:00 bis 18:00 Uhr für den Bootsverkehr gesperrt sein.

IFI Fish Stock Survey

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters of vessels and water users that Inland Fisheries Ireland will be conducting a fish stock survey on Lough Garadice between Monday 4th September and Thursday 7th September 2023.
All nets will be clearly marked by orange buoys marked IFI SurveyMasters of vessels and all water users should proceed with additional caution when operating on Lough Garadice during this period.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffsführer und Wassersportler darauf hinweisen, dass Inland Fisheries Ireland zwischen Montag, dem 4. September, und Donnerstag, dem 7. September 2023, eine Fischbestandserhebung im Lough Garadice durchführen wird.
Alle Netze werden durch orangefarbene Bojen mit der Aufschrift IFI Survey“ deutlich gekennzeichnet sein.
Die Kapitäne von Schiffen und alle Wassernutzer sollten während dieser Zeit mit erhöhter Vorsicht auf dem Lough Garadice arbeiten.

Temporary Bridge Closure on 24th August 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of all craft that Monasterevin Lifting Bridge will be closed for canal traffic on Thursday 24th August. This one-day closure is to facilitate emergency road repairs.
The bridge will return to normal operations on Friday 25th August.
Waterways Ireland wishes to apologise for any inconvenience that this temporary closure may cause its customers.

Vorübergehende Brückensperrung am 24. August 2023
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne aller Wasserfahrzeuge darauf hinweisen, dass die Monasterevin Hebebrücke am Donnerstag, den 24. August, für den Kanalverkehr gesperrt wird. Diese eintägige Sperrung dient dazu, dringende Straßenreparaturen durchzuführen.
Die Brücke wird am Freitag, dem 25. August, wieder in Betrieb genommen.
Waterways Ireland bittet um Verständnis für die Unannehmlichkeiten, die diese vorübergehende Schließung für die Gäste mit sich bringen kann.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the IWAI Carrick Cares Day takes place in Lough Key Forest Park on Saturday 26 August 2023.
There will be limited mooring available at the harbour on the day. Vessels should proceed with caution around the harbour area due to small craft carrying wheelchair users.

IWAI Carrick unterstützt, Samstag, 26. August 2023
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Eigner darauf hinweisen, dass am Samstag, den 26. August 2023, der IWAI Carrick Cares Day, die Veranstaltung ist für Gäste mit besonderen Bedürfnissen; im Lough Key Forest Park stattfindet.
An diesem Tag werden im Hafen nur begrenzte Liegeplätze zur Verfügung stehen. Schiffe sollten sich im Hafengebiet vorsichtig bewegen, da kleine Boote mit Rollstuhlfahrern unterwegs sind.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Mitarbeit.

Rindoon to Athlone Castle to Castle Swim

Saturday 26th August 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters of Vessels and waterways users that the Jim O’Connell Memorial Castle to Castle Swim will take place on Lough Ree on Saturday 26th August 2023.

The swim will commence at Rindoon jetty at 0900hrs and finish at 1600hrs at Athlone Castle.
Masters of Vessels are advised to proceed with additional caution in the vicinity of the swim and to comply with the instructions of safety boats.

Rindoon nach Athlone, von Castle zu Castle schwimmen, Samstag, 26. August 2023
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffsführer und Wasserstraßenbenutzer darauf hinweisen, dass das Jim O’Connell Memorial Castle to Castle Swim am Samstag, den 26. August 2023 im Lough Ree stattfinden wird.
Das Schwimmen wird um 0900 Uhr am Rindoon Jetty beginnen und um 1600 Uhr am Athlone Castle enden.
Schiffsführer werden gebeten, in der Nähe der Schwimmstrecke besonders vorsichtig zu sein und den Anweisungen der Sicherheitsboote Folge zu leisten.
