Shannon Navigation, Clarendon Lock

Closure from 02 November 2021 to January 2022

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels on the Shannon Navigation that Clarendon Lock will be closed from 02 November 2021 until January 2022 due to essential works required to the lock in advance of replacement of lock gates during Winter 2022/23.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their understanding in relation to this matter.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen auf der Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass das Clarendon Lock vom 02. November 2021 bis Januar 2022 wegen notwendiger Arbeiten an der Schleuse im Vorfeld des Austauschs der Schleusentore im Winter 2022/23 geschlossen sein wird.

Diving operations

Athlone, 22 October 2021

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels on the Shannon Navigation that an underwater archaeological survey adjacent to Wansboro Field, Athlone will take place between 0900hrs and 1400hrs on Friday 22nd October 2021.
All vessels are asked to take additional care when underway in this area.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their understanding in relation to this matter.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen auf der Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass am Freitag, den 22. Oktober 2021, zwischen 0900 und 1400 Uhr eine archäologische Unterwasseruntersuchung in der Nähe von Wansboro Field, Athlone, stattfinden wird.
Alle Schiffe werden gebeten, bei Fahrten in diesem Gebiet besondere Vorsicht walten zu lassen.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihr Verständnis in dieser Angelegenheit.

Royal Canal

Richmond Harbour, Breach in canal

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels that a breach in the canal has occurred in the vicinity of Richmond Harbour. A significant reduction in water levels has occurred on the level between Locks 45 and 46.
Repair works have commenced on Monday 18 Oct 2021.
No access to Richmond Harbour from the Camlin River will be possible until further notice. No access to Richmond Harbour from the Eastern side through Lock 45 will be possible until further notice.
Masters and owners of boats moored in Richmond Harbour are advised to check on their boat regularly as water levels stabilise and rise again.
Further updates will be provided in due course.
Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Richmond Harbour, Bruch im Kanal
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen darauf hinweisen, dass in der Nähe von Richmond Harbour ein Bruch im Kanal aufgetreten ist. Auf der Ebene zwischen den Schleusen 45 und 46 ist es zu einer erheblichen Verringerung des Wasserstandes gekommen.
Die Reparaturarbeiten haben am Montag, 18. Oktober 2021, begonnen.
Die Zufahrt zum Richmond Harbour vom Camlin River aus ist bis auf weiteres nicht möglich. Die Einfahrt in den Hafen von Richmond von der Ostseite durch die Schleuse 45 ist bis auf weiteres nicht möglich.
Kapitäne und Eigner von Booten, die im Hafen von Richmond festgemacht haben, werden gebeten, regelmäßig nach ihrem Boot zu sehen, wenn sich der Wasserstand stabilisiert und wieder ansteigt.
Weitere Informationen werden zu gegebener Zeit bekannt gegeben.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehmlich-keiten.

Lock N1 reopening on Monday 18 Oct 2021

Waterways Ireland wishes to notify masters that Lock N1 on the Naas Branch of the Grand Canal will reopen on Monday 18 October 2021.
Repairs to the bridge will be completed by 18 October 2021.
Waterways thanks its customers for their understanding.

Wiedereröffnung der Schleuse N1 am Montag, 18. Oktober 2021
Waterways Ireland möchte die Schiffsführer darüber informieren, dass die Schleuse N1 auf dem Naas Branch des Grand Canal am Montag, den 18. Oktober 2021 wieder geöffnet wird.
Die Reparaturen an der Brücke werden bis zum 18. Oktober 2021 abgeschlossen sein.

Diving operations – Portumna and Ballymacegan Island Areas

Monday 11 to Sunday 17 October 2021

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels on the Shannon Navigation that the Underwater Archaeology Unit of the National Monuments Service will be carrying out diving operations from Monday 11th to Sunday 17th October 2021 in the following locations:

- - Portumna: From 500 metres North of Portumna bridge to Lough Derg
  - Ballymacegan Island, within the old navigation channel. Ballymacegan Island is 7km north of Portumna bridge.

All vessels are asked to take additional care when underway in these areas. A safety boat will be in attendance and Flag Alpha will be flown during diving operations.

Montag 11. bis Sonntag 17. Oktober 2021
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen auf der Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass die Unterwasserarchäologie-Einheit des National Monuments Service von Montag, den 11. bis Sonntag, den 17. Oktober 2021 an den folgenden Stellen Tauchgänge durchführen wird:

- - Portumna: Von 500 Metern nördlich der Portumna-Brücke bis zum Lough Derg
  - Ballymacegan Island, innerhalb der alten Fahrrinne. Ballymacegan Island liegt 7 km nördlich der Portumna-Brücke.

Alle Schiffe werden gebeten, in diesen Gebieten besondere Vorsicht walten zu lassen, wenn sie unterwegs sind. Ein Sicherheitsboot wird vor Ort sein, und während der Tauchoperationen wird die Flagge Alpha gehisst.
