Royal Canal

Clondra – Richmond Harbour – Canoe Polo

Navigation and Mooring Restrictions
Sat 30th July & Sun 31st July 2022

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and users of the Royal Canal, of navigation and mooring restrictions in Richmond Harbour to facilitate a canoe polo competition on Saturday 30th July & Sunday 31st July 2022 between 08.30 and 17.30 daily.
No vessels should moor in the harbour during this time.
Please note, in the interest of Health & Safety it will not be possible for vessels to enter or exit the harbour during the event.
Waterways Ireland takes this opportunity to thank its customers for their co-operation with these arrangements.

Navigations- und Liegeplatzbeschränkungen Sa 30. Juli & So 31. Juli 2022
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne von Schiffen und alle Nutzer des Royal Canal auf die Einschränkungen der Schifffahrt und des Anlegens im Hafen von Richmond hinweisen, um einen Kanu-Polo-Wettbewerb am Samstag, den 30. Juli und Sonntag, den 31. Juli 2022 zwischen 08.30 und 17.30 Uhr zu ermöglichen.
Während dieser Zeit dürfen keine Schiffe im Hafen festmachen.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass es im Interesse der Gesundheit und Sicherheit nicht möglich sein wird, während der Veranstaltung in den Hafen einzufahren oder ihn zu verlassen.
Waterways Ireland bedankt sich bei dieser Gelegenheit bei seinen Besuchern für ihre Kooperation bei diesen Veranstaltungen.

Waterways Ireland Irish Autism Action

Waterbased Events Sat 12 Sep

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the above events will take place on Sat 12 Sep from 1000hrs until 1300hrs and will include the presence of kayaks and canoes both on the Camlin Blueway and in Richmond Harbour.
Masters are requested to give priority at floating moorings to the launching and recovery of canoes and be aware of novice users taking part in the event.
Where masters meet canoes on the Blueway they are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Neue Basis am Royal Canal

Der November ist ja im Prinzip eine relativ langweilige Zeit, wenn es ums Bootfahren in Irland geht. Nicht so heute, lese ich da doch bei Stevie im Shannon-Forum eine sehr erfreuliche Nachricht. Locaboat macht eine zweite Basis am Ende vom Royal Canal auf. Wow! Da müssen wohl noch ein paar mehr Leute als nur meine Frau nachgefragt haben! Es bietet sich ja auch für Locaboat geradezu an, als erster Bootsvermieter Fahrten in den Royal Canal zu gestatten. Penichettes sind für Kanäle konzipiert, alle ihre Boote haben eine Durchfahrtshöhe, die für den Royal absolut ok ist. Und zudem haben sie „weed hatches“, wo man mal ohne tauchen gehen zu müssen, an eventuelles Zeug kommt, was sich um die Schraube gewickelt haben könnte. Aber auch das ist nach bisherigen Erfahrungen, gerade im westlichen Abschnitt des Royal Canal eher die Ausnahme als die Regel. Hätte ich meinen Urlaub nicht schon gebucht ….
