Nationals at Killaloe Sailing Club

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels navigating in the vicinity of Killaloe Sailing Club that the club will host the RS Class Nationals from Friday, 21st August to Sunday, 23rd August on Lough Derg in the vicinity of Tinarana Bay.
This major sailing event will see approximately 80 sailing dinghies, on two race courses, supported by clearly marked rescue boats.
Safety Guidance for Passing Vessels:

- - Masters of vessels are requested to comply with instructions from safety boats.
  - Proceed at a maximum speed of 5 knots and keep wash to a minimum when near event vessels.
  - Be aware that excessive speed and wash can endanger competitors and support craft.

This is a significant event for young competitive sailors, and we ask all waterway users to show due consideration and respect to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Waterways Ireland wishes participants the very best of luck and thanks all boaters for their cooperation.

Waterways Ireland weist die Kapitäne von Schiffen, die in der Nähe des Killaloe Sailing Club unterwegs sind, darauf hin, dass der Club vom Freitag, dem 21. August, bis Sonntag, dem 23. August, auf dem Lough Derg in der Nähe der Tinarana Bay die nationalen Meisterschaften der RS-Klasse ausrichtet.

Bei dieser großen Segelveranstaltung werden etwa 80 Jollen auf zwei Regattastrecken an den Start gehen, unterstützt von deutlich gekennzeichneten Rettungsbooten.
Sicherheitshinweise für vorbeifahrende Schiffe:

- - Die Schiffsführer werden gebeten, den Anweisungen der Sicherheitsboote Folge zu leisten.
  - Fahren Sie mit einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 5 Knoten und halten Sie den Wellengang in der Nähe der Veranstaltungsschiffe so gering wie möglich.
  - Beachten Sie, dass überhöhte Geschwindigkeit und starker Wellengang die Teilnehmer und Begleitboote gefährden können.

Der Veranstaltungsleiter ist unter der Nummer 083 4607433 für operative Angelegenheiten erreichbar.
Dies ist eine bedeutende Veranstaltung für junge Wettkampfsegler, und wir bitten alle Nutzer der Wasserstraßen um Rücksichtnahme und Respekt, um ein sicheres und angenehmes Erlebnis für alle zu gewährleisten. IFI Surveys, 12 to 30 June 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and waterways users that IFI will be conducting fish stock surveys on Lough Der from 12th to 30th June 2023.
There will be around 100-110 net locations as shown on the map below. All nets will be marked with bright our range Buoys marked IFI Survey (see image). The majority of the nets will be set on the bottom, so depending on the depth only the marker buoys and rope will be potential hazards. Some floating and mid water nets in the deeper mid lake sections, and again these will be clearly marked, normally with 2 buoys.
Masters of vessels are requested to proceed with additional caution in the vicinity of the survey locations.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne und Wasserstraßennutzer darauf hinweisen, dass das IFI vom 12. bis 30. Juni 2023 Fischbestandserhebungen im Lough Derg durchführen wird.
Es wird etwa 100-110 Netzstandorte geben, wie auf der Karte unten dargestellt. Alle Netze werden mit hellen Bojen mit der Aufschrift IFI Survey markiert (siehe Bild). Die meisten Netze werden auf dem Meeresgrund ausgebracht, so dass je nach Tiefe nur die Markierungsbojen und das Seil eine potenzielle Gefahr darstellen. In den tieferen Abschnitten in der Mitte des Sees gibt es einige schwimmende Netze und Netze in der Mitte des Sees, die ebenfalls deutlich markiert sind, normalerweise mit zwei Bojen.
Die Kapitäne von Schiffen werden gebeten, in der Nähe der Vermessungsstellen mit zusätzlicher Vorsicht vorzugehen.

Brian Boru Festival Sat 9th July 2022

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the on water elements of the Brian Boru festival will take place on Saturday 9th July 2022 in the Killaloe and Ballina areas. Water activities and times as follows:

- 9.30am – Blessing of the boats.
- 10am to 5pm – A taste of kayaking on the Canal.
- 11am – Swim from Pier Head to the pontoon close to Library.
- 11am to 2pm – Taste of sailing (From the pontoon at the Washer Women Bridge, just south of the main bridge)
- 2pm to 5pm – Flyboarding displays on the water (North of the bridge, in front of Flanagan’s)
- 10.15pm to 10.45pm – Flyboarding with light suits, South of the bridge
- 10.45pm – Fireworks display set off from between the waters in the carpark between the Waterways Ireland Workshop and the ESB. (Back of the Cathedral)

Masters of vessels are requested to stay out of the river area South of the bridge from 10pm to 11.30pm on Saturday night to facilitate the flyboarding and fireworks displays. A safety RIB will be on the water.

Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass am Samstag, den 9. Juli 2022, in den Gebieten Killaloe und Ballina die Wassersportaktivitäten des Brian Boru Festivals stattfinden werden.
Aktivitäten auf dem Wasser und Zeiten wie folgt:

- 9.30 Uhr – Segnung der Boote.
- 10 Uhr bis 17 Uhr – Kajakfahren auf dem Kanal.
- 11 Uhr – Schwimmen vom Pier Head zum Ponton in der Nähe der Bibliothek.
- 11.00 bis 14.00 Uhr – Schnuppersegeln (vom Ponton an der Wäscherinnenbrücke, südlich der Hauptbrücke)
- 14.00 bis 17.00 Uhr – Flyboarding-Vorführungen auf dem Wasser (nördlich der Brücke, vor Flanagan’s)
- 22.15 Uhr bis 22.45 Uhr – Flyboarding mit leichten Anzügen, südlich der Brücke
- 22.45 Uhr – Feuerwerk zwischen den Gewässern auf dem Parkplatz zwischen dem Waterways Ireland Workshop und dem ESB. (Hinter der Kathedrale)

Die Kapitäne der Schiffe werden gebeten, sich am Samstagabend von 22.00 bis 23.30 Uhr aus dem Flussbereich südlich der Brücke fernzuhalten, um das Flyboarding und das Feuerwerk zu ermöglichen. Ein Sicherheits-RIB wird auf dem Wasser sein.
