MARINE NOTICE, No. 120 of 2015

Shannon Navigation & Royal Canal

Camlin River, Clondra and Richmond Harbour

Waterways Ireland Irish Autism Action

Waterbased Events Sat 12 Sep

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the above events will take place on Sat 12 Sep from 1000hrs until 1300hrs and will include the presence of kayaks and canoes both on the Camlin Blueway and in Richmond Harbour.
Masters are requested to give priority at floating moorings to the launching and recovery of canoes and be aware of novice users taking part in the event.
Where masters meet canoes on the Blueway they are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Camlin River

Navigation Restriction

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the Camlin River will be closed to traffic on Thursday 16th of July to facilitate a structural survey of the N5 over bridge just North of Richmond Harbour. The alternative route is via the Shannon Navigation at Tarmonbarry.

Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter and regrets any inconvenience caused.

MARINE NOTICE 54 of 2012

Camlin River
Restricted Draft

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon Navigation that vessel draft is restricted to no greater than 1m in the Camlin river, from where the Longford to Tarmonbarry road crosses the river upstream to the confluence of the Shannon. This restriction is due primarily to silting.

Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their cooperation.

Navigation Hazard

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that two work barges formerly moored about 400m south of Tarmonbarry Lock, on the western bank, have drifted across the navigation and grounded near the entrance to the Camlin River.
A third barge also moored at the same location may also succumb to the present gales and follow suit.
Masters are advised to keep a sharp look-out and navigate with due caution when in this section of the navigation.

MARINE NOTICE 064 of 2011

Clondra Lock – North Shannon
Temporary Closure

Masters and Owners are advised that a temporary closure of Clondra Lock will be in place on Wed 29th & Thurs 30th June 2011 to facilitate emergency repair works.
Masters and owners wishing to access the River Shannon from the Royal Canal’s Richmond Harbour should do so via the Camlin River.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused.
