Nach Information von Waterways Ireland ist die Navigation des „Shannon – Erne – Waterways“ wieder offen.
Die Schließung war erforderlich, um die Arbeiten zur Uferbefestigung in diesem Gebiet abzuschließen.

Grand Canal
Grand Canal – Navigation Blocked at Pollagh – 17 March 2025
Waterways Ireland advises masters of vessels that navigation on the Grand Canal at Pollagh, west of Tullamore, is currently blocked due to a vehicle entering the canal on Sunday, 16 March 2025.
A recovery plan has been initiated, but removal of the vehicle may take several days.
Waterways Ireland thanks waterway users for their cooperation and understanding while this incident is being resolved. Further updates will be provided as necessary.

Grand Canal – Navigation in Pollagh blockiert – 17. März 2025
Waterways Ireland informiert die Kapitäne von Schiffen, dass die Navigation auf dem Grand Canal bei Pollagh, westlich von Tullamore, derzeit blockiert ist, da am Sonntag, den 16. März 2025, ein Fahrzeug in den Kanal gefahren ist.
Es wurde ein Bergungsplan in die Wege geleitet, aber die Beseitigung des Fahrzeugs kann mehrere Tage dauern.
Waterways Ireland dankt den Nutzern der Wasserstraße für ihre Kooperation und ihr Verständnis, während dieser Vorfall geklärt wird. Weitere Informationen werden bei Bedarf zur Verfügung gestellt.
