Reopening of Facilitis

Waterways Ireland is commencing the demobilisation of plant and equipment following the recent jetty upgrading works at Leitrim Village and notifies Customers as follows:

      1. Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the Public Jetty fronting the Marina Apartments in Leitrim Village will reopen for mooring on Friday 29th September 2023.
      2. Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the Public Jetty and Car Park at the service block in Leitrim Village will be closed on Thursday 28th September 2023 to facilitate demobilisation of floating plant and equipment.

Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks our customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Waterways Ireland beginnt mit der Demobilisierung von Anlagen und Ausrüstungen nach den jüngsten Modernisierungsarbeiten an der Anlegestelle in Leitrim Village und informiert die Kunden wie folgt:

      1. Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass der öffentliche Anlegesteg vor den Marina Apartments in Leitrim Village am Freitag, den 29. September 2023, wieder zum Anlegen geöffnet wird.
      2. Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass der öffentliche Anlegesteg und der Parkplatz am Serviceblock in Leitrim Village am Donnerstag, den 28. September 2023 geschlossen werden um die Demobilisierung der schwimmenden Anlagen und Ausrüstungen zu erleichtern.

Waterways Ireland bedauert die damit verbundenen Unannehmlichkeiten und bedankt sich bei seinen Gästen für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Temporary navigational markers

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and waterways users that temporary markers have been installed at Port, approx. 1 km downstream of Leitrim Village to avoid a navigation restriction in the area.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne von Schiffen und Benutzer von Wasserstraßen darauf hinweisen, dass im Hafen, ca. 1 km flussabwärts von Leitrim Village, vorübergehende Markierungen angebracht wurden, um eine Einschränkung der Schifffahrt in diesem Gebiet zu vermeiden.

Drumshanbo,

Launch of Waterways Ireland Heritage Plan

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the above event will take place on Fri 29th Jul 2016 from Drumshanbo Lock commencing at 1100hrs

A large fleet of Heritage Boats will assemble at Drumshanbo Lock at 1000hrs for the formal launch of the Waterways Ireland Heritage Plan. Thereafter the fleet will proceed southwards towards Leitrim Village to arrive by 1500hrs.

Masters should proceed at slow speed when approaching this stretch of waterway during the event and note any directions issued by the organisers and safety marshals controlling the event.

Masters are advised that delays along the Lough Allen Canal from Battlebridge will be experienced during the event.

Shannon Blueway

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the „Shannon Blueway Adventure Festival“ will be taking place this weekend, 1st – 4th May, in Leitrim Village.
Numerous canoes and kayaks will be in attendance. Masters are requested to approach the area at slow speed and with minimum wash to avoid creating any hazard for smaller craft.

Launch of Waterways Ireland Blueway Canoe Trail

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the above event will take place on Sat 11th Oct 2014 from Acres Lake at 12 noon.

A large fleet of canoeists will assemble at Drumshanbo Lock at 1130hrs and proceed to Acres Lake for 1200hrs for the formal launch of the Waterways Ireland Blueway Canoe Trail. Thereafter the fleet will proceed downstream towards Leitrim Village to arrive by 1500hrs.

Masters should proceed at slow speed when approaching this stretch of waterway during the event and note any directions issued by the organisers and safety marshals controlling the event. Masters are reminded to keep their wash low to avoid upsetting canoes and other low freeboard craft associated with the event.
