ROYAL CANAL

Newcomen Bridge Lift Dates 2019

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that the provisional schedule of bridge lift dates 2019 for Newcomen Bridge, Royal Canal, Dublin is as follows:

Thursday	25th April	11am-1pm
Sunday	5th May	9am-1pm
Saturday	1st June	9am-1pm
Tuesday	25th June	11am-1pm
Thursday	25th July	11am-1pm
Thursday	22nd August	Newcomen Bridge Lift Cancellation
Tuesday	8th October	11am-1pm

NOTES:

Arrangements have been made for Iarnród Éireann to open the bridge on the above dates / times, if there is demand.
Waterways Ireland Eastern Regional Office (Tel: +353(0)1 868 0148 or dublincanals@waterwaysireland.org ) require 2 weeks’ notice from boaters for use of these lifts. Should there not be a demand (min 2 boats) for a particular date, Iarnród Éireann will be notified by WI that the scheduled lift is cancelled.
A maximum number of boats passing will be implemented to keep to the times given above for the planned lifts (16 for the Sat / Sun lifts & 8 for the weekday lifts). Priority will be given on a first come first served basis.
On day of lift, boaters and passengers must follow guidance from Waterways Ireland staff about sequence of passage under bridge & through Lock 1, and must remain within signed and designated areas.

Anmerkungen:

Es wurden Vorkehrungen getroffen, dass Iarnród Éireann die Brücke zu den oben genannten Terminen / Zeiten öffnet, wenn es Nachfrage gibt.
Waterways Ireland Eastern Regional Office (Tel: +353(0)1 868 0148 oder dublincanals@waterwaysireland.org) verlangen von den Bootsführern eine Frist von 2 Wochen für die Nutzung dieser Lifte. Sollte für einen bestimmten Termin keine Nachfrage (mindestens 2 Boote) bestehen, wird Iarnród Éireann von WI darüber informiert, dass der geplante Lift abgesagt wird.
Es wird eine maximale Anzahl von Booten eingesetzt, um die oben genannten Zeiten für die geplanten Aufzüge einzuhalten (16 für die Sat/Sun-Aufzüge & 8 für die Wochentagsaufzüge). Die Priorität wird auf der Grundlage des Windhundverfahrens vergeben.
Am Tag des Aufzugs müssen Bootsfahrer und Passagiere den Anweisungen des Personals von Waterways Ireland bezüglich der Reihenfolge der Passage unter der Brücke und durch Schleuse 1 folgen und sich in den gekennzeichneten und ausgewiesenen Bereichen aufhalten.

Enniskillen – Portora

Head of River Rowing Race, Sat 2nd March 2019

Masters and owners are advised that the Portora Boat Club “Head of River” race will take place on Sat 2nd March 2019 from 10.00 hrs until 16.00hrs, the course will stretch from Culkey downstream to finish at the Portora Boat House, Enniskillen.

Masters of vessels are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when passing this stretch of the navigation and to heed any advice or instructions issued by the regatta officials.

Enniskillen – Portora: Head of River Rowing Race, Sa 2. März 2019
Kapitäne und Besitzer werden darauf hingewiesen, dass das Rennen des Portora Boat Club „Head of River“ am Samstag, den 2. März 2019 von 10.00 Uhr bis 16.00 Uhr stattfinden wird, die Strecke wird sich von Culkey stromabwärts bis zum Ziel am Portora Boat House, Enniskillen, erstrecken.
Die Kapitäne der Schiffe werden gebeten, beim Passieren dieses Abschnitts der Navigation mit langsamer Geschwindigkeit und minimalem Waschgang vorzugehen und alle Ratschläge und Anweisungen der Regattabeamten zu befolgen.

LEITRIM VILLAGE TO DRUMSHAMBO BLUEWAY

TONY McGOWAN RUN – Sunday 17 February 2019

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the annual Tony McGowan road race will take place on Sunday 17th February 2019 on the Blueway between Leitrim Village and Drumshanbo between 10am and 5pm. There will be large volumes of both runners and walkers present. All navigation users are requested to proceed with due care.

TONY McGOWAN RUN – Sonntag 17. Februar 2019
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass das jährliche Tony McGowan Straßenrennen am Sonntag, den 17. Februar 2019 auf dem Blueway zwischen Leitrim Village und Drumshanbo zwischen 10 und 17 Uhr stattfinden wird. Es wird eine große Anzahl von Läufern und Wanderern anwesend sein. Alle Navigationsbenutzer werden gebeten, mit der gebotenen Sorgfalt vorzugehen.

Additorial Navigational Markers at:

Fed Head & Hare Island

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that two additional navigation aids have been installed on Lough Ree.
A red Conical has been installed on the North side of Hare Island and a green conical has been installed on the West side of Fat Head Island. See chartlet below for locations of additional navigation aids.

Zusätzliche Navigationsmarkierungen auf Fed Head & Hare Island
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Schiffseigentümer darauf hinweisen, dass zwei zusätzliche Navigationshilfen am Lough Ree installiert wurden.
Ein roter Marker wurde auf der Nordseite von Hare Island und ein grüner Marker auf der Westseite von Fat Head Island installiert. Die Positionen der zusätzlichen Navigationshilfen finden Sie in der oben angezeigten Karten, wenn Sie das Bild anklicken.
PS: Die Koordinaten für die neuen Navigationsmarker auf dem Lough Ree basieren auf dem IrishTtransverse Mercator(ITM) Grid (Danke an WI für diese Information):

Closed for Essential Maintenance
from 11 February 2019 for 2 Weeks

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Jamestown Canal will be closed from 11 February 2019 for two weeks due to essential maintenance works being carried out.

Jamestown Kanal – Wird wegen notwendiger Wartung ab 11. Februar 2019 für 2 Wochen geschlossen.
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Schiffseigentümer darauf hinweisen, dass der Jamestown-Kanal ab dem 11. Februar 2019 für zwei Wochen geschlossen sein wird, da grundlegende Wartungsarbeiten durchgeführt werden.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für die Zusammenarbeit in dieser Angelegenheit.
