Navigation Closure, Quest Lough Derg event

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters / owners / users of the Shannon Navigation that the Quest Lough Derg event takes place around Killaloe Co Clare and Ballina Co Tipperary on Saturday 14 September 2019.
The Shannon Navigation will be closed from 6pm on Friday 13th to 6pm on Saturday 14th September 2019. A floating pontoon will be placed across the Shannon Navigation upstream of Killaloe bridge. The pontoon will be lit during the hours of darkness and safety boats will be in the area while the pontoon is in place.
The slipway at Ballina will be closed while the pontoon is being constructed. Construction will take place from Wednesday 11th September to Friday 13th September and the pontoon will be dismantled on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2019.
There will be restricted access to the Waterways Ireland jetties and pump out facility in Killaloe from 6pm on Friday 13th to 6pm on Saturday 14th September 2019. Mooring space will be available upstream of the pump out facility.
Approx 1500 athletes will move along the Waterways Ireland jetties and cross the lock gate walkway in the morning and will return by the same route in the afternoon of Sat 14 September 2019. Care should be taken when using the jetties and lock gate walkway as there will be significant pedestrian traffic.
The kayaking element of Quest lough Derg will take place at Twomilegate Co Clare.
Masters are requested to take heed of advice and directions from safety craft monitoring the event and to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash in the vicinity of Twomilegate and Killaloe during the event.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne / Besitzer / Nutzer der Shannon-Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass das Quest Lough Derg Event am Samstag, den 14. September 2019 um Killaloe Co Clare und Ballina Co Tipperary herum stattfindet.
Die Shannon Navigation wird am Freitag, den 13. September 2019 von 18.00 Uhr bis 18.00 Uhr am Samstag, den 14. September 2019 geschlossen sein. Ein schwimmender Ponton wird über die Shannon-Navigation stromaufwärts der Killaloe Brücke platziert. Der Ponton wird während der Dunkelheit beleuchtet und Sicherheitsschiffe werden sich in der Gegend befinden, während der Ponton an seinem Platz ist.
Die Slipanlage bei Ballina wird während des Baus des Pontons geschlossen. Der Bau findet von Mittwoch, den 11. September bis Freitag, den 13. September statt und der Ponton wird am Samstag, den 14. und Sonntag, den 15. September 2019 abgebaut.
Es wird einen eingeschränkten Zugang zu den Anlegestellen von Waterways Ireland und einer Pump-Out-Anlage in Killaloe von Freitag, den 13. bis Samstag, den 14. September 2019, von 18.00 Uhr bis 18.00 Uhr geben. Vor der Auspumpvorrichtung wird ein Liegeplatz zur Verfügung stehen.
Etwa 1500 Athleten werden sich entlang der Stege von Waterways Ireland bewegen und morgens den Schleusentorweg überqueren und am Nachmittag des 14. September 2019 auf dem gleichen Weg zurückkehren. Bei der Benutzung der Stege und des Schleusentorlaufstegs ist Vorsicht geboten, da es zu einem erheblichen Fußgängerverkehr kommen wird.
Das Kajak-Element von Quest lough Derg wird bei Twomilegate Co Clare stattfinden.
Die Kapitäne werden gebeten, die Ratschläge und Anweisungen von Sicherheitsfahrzeugen zu befolgen, die das Ereignis überwachen, und während des Ereignisses mit langsamer Geschwindigkeit und minimalem Wash in der Nähe von Twomilegate und Killaloe zu fahren.
