Diving operations

Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 September 2021

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels on the Shannon Navigation that routine dive inspections are being carried out on all locks and waiting jetties on the Shannon Navigation from 22-09-21 to 24-09-21.
All vessels are asked to take additional care whilst approaching and departing locks during this time. Flag Alpha will be flown during diving operations and a safety boat will be in attendance.

Taucheinsätze Mittwoch 22. bis Freitag 24. September 2021
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen auf der Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass vom 22.09.21 bis zum 24.09.21 routinemäßige Tauchinspektionen an allen Schleusen und Wartestegen auf der Shannon Navigation durchgeführt werden.
Alle Schiffe werden gebeten, während dieser Zeit beim Anfahren und Verlassen der Schleusen besondere Vorsicht walten zu lassen. Während der Tauchoperationen wird die Flagge Alpha gehisst und ein Sicherheitsboot wird anwesend sein.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihr Verständnis in dieser Angelegenheit.

NAVIGATION RESTRICTIONS

Offaly Rowing Club Time Trials

Grand Canal–Ballycommon to Daingean,  2 October 2021

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and owners of vessel that Offaly Rowing Club will be holding time trials on the Grand Canal in the Cappincur area on 2 October 2021.
The event will take place between Ballycommon and Daingean between 09:00 and 16:00 hours.
Navigation will be restricted during the period of the trials.
Masters of vessels are requested to comply with event stewards.
Waterways Ireland thanks all their customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Grand Canal – Ballycommon nach Daingean, 2. Oktober 2021
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne und Bootsbesitzer darauf hinweisen, dass der Offaly Rowing Club am 2. Oktober 2021 ein Zeitfahren auf dem Grand Canal in der Gegend von Cappincur durchführen wird.
Die Veranstaltung findet zwischen Ballycommon und Daingean zwischen 09:00 und 16:00 Uhr statt.
Die Schifffahrt wird während der Dauer der Versuche eingeschränkt sein.
Die Kapitäne der Schiffe werden gebeten, den Anweisungen der Veranstaltungsleiter Folge zu leisten.
Waterways Ireland dankt allen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

NAVIGATION RESTRICTIONS

Grand Canal – Naas Branch

Waterways Ireland wishes to notify masters that Lock N1 on the Naas Branch of the Grand Canal is closed to boat passage until further notice due to a recent vehicle collision with the adjacent Osberstown Bridge.
The lock cannot be operated and it is unsafe to pass underneath the bridge until repairs are carried out.
Waterways apologies for inconvenience caused to owners of vessels.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Schifffahrtsteilnehmer darüber informieren, dass die Schleuse N1 auf dem Naas Branch des Grand Canal bis auf weiteres für die Durchfahrt von Schiffen gesperrt ist, da kürzlich ein Fahrzeug mit der angrenzenden Osberstown Bridge zusammengestoßen ist.
Die Schleuse kann nicht bedient werden, und die Durchfahrt unter der Brücke ist bis zur Durchführung der Reparaturarbeiten nicht sicher.
Waterways entschuldigt sich für die Unannehmlichkeiten, die den Schiffs-eignern entstanden sind.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels on the Shannon Navigation that Meelick Quay wall will be closed from 0900hrs to 1600hrs on Friday 24 September 2021.

Hodson Bay to Athlone Town

Charity Swim, Sunday 26 September 2021

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise users of the Shannon Navigation that a charity swim will take place from Hodson Bay to Athlone town on Sunday 26 September 2021.

Swimmers will enter the water at Hodson Bay at 1200 hrs, marker 644 near Lough Ree Yacht club at 1300hrs, Golden mile area at 1400hrs and it is expected that the last swimmers will exit the water at Athlone town (slipway at the Castle) at 1600 hrs.
It is requested that Masters of Vessels obey the instructions of the Safety boats and marshals who will be accompanying the swimmers.
Masters of Vessels should proceed with additional caution in the vicinity of the swim event.

Wohltätigkeitsschwimmen, Sonntag, 26. September 2021
Waterways Ireland möchte die Nutzer der Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass am Sonntag, den 26. September 2021, ein Wohltätig-keitsschwimmen von Hodson Bay nach Athlone Town stattfindet.
Die Schwimmer werden um 1200 Uhr in der Hodson Bay ins Wasser gehen, um 1300 an der Markierung 644 in der Nähe des Yachtclubs Lough Ree, um 1400 im Bereich der Goldenen Meile, und die letzten Schwimmer werden voraussichtlich um 1600 in Athlone Town (Slipanlage am Castle) aus dem Wasser gehen.
Die Schiffsführer werden gebeten, den Anweisungen der Sicherheitsboote und der Marshalls, die die Schwimmer begleiten werden, Folge zu leisten.
Schiffsführer sollten sich in der Nähe des Schwimmereignisses mit besonderer Vorsicht bewegen.
