MARINE NOTICE, No 85. of 2021

Renewal of permits and removal of vessels from:
Grand Canal, Royal Canal and Barrow Navigation.

Canal Act 1986 (Bye-Laws) 1988

Waterways Ireland wishes to remind all masters and owners of vessels that all canal permits expired on 1st November 2021 and must now be renewed.
Permits can be renewed online at:

Vessels not compliant with the Bye-Laws i.e.;

1. 1. Vessels with no permit, Bye Law 6(8)
   2. Vessels non-attended and apparently abandoned, Bye Law 6(8)
   3. Vessels doubled moored and causing obstruction (sunk) , Bye Law 27 (3)
   4. Vessels deemed to be / likely to cause a hazard to navigation, Bye Law 33(3),

will be removed from the Grand canal, Royal Canal and Barrow Navigation as operationally convenient. Removed vessels may then be subsequently disposed of in accordance with Bye Law 34(2).

Erneuerung von Genehmigungen und Entfernung von Booten vom Grand Canal, Royal Canal und Barrow Navigation.
Canal Act 1986 (Bye-Laws) 1988
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne und Schiffseigner daran erinnern, dass alle Kanalgenehmigungen am 1. November 2021 abliefen und nun erneuert werden müssen.
Die Genehmigungen können online unter.

Boote, die die Bye-Laws nicht einhalten, d.h.;

1. 1. Boote ohne Genehmigung, Bye Law 6(8)
   2. Boote, die unbeaufsichtigt sind und offensichtlich verlassen wurden, Bye Law 6(8)
   3. Boote, die doppelt vertäut sind und ein Hindernis darstellen (gesunken sind), Seegesetz 27 (3)
   4. Boote, die eine Gefahr für die Schifffahrt darstellen oder darstellen könnten, Seegesetz 33(3),

werden aus dem Grand Canal, dem Royal Canal und der Barrow Navigation entfernt, wenn dies betrieblich sinnvoll ist. Die entfernten Schiffe können anschließend gemäß Bye Law 34(2) entsorgt werden.
