North Strand Road to Phibsborough: Lock 1 to Lock 5
Cycleway upgrade works
Waterways Ireland wishes to notify users of the Royal Canal between Lock 1 and Lock 5, North Strand Road to Phibsborough, that cycleway upgrade works have recently commenced on this stretch of the canal. This work will require closures of the canal towpaths in the area over the upcoming period through the Spring and Summer period, in order to facilitate the upgrading works. Diversion signage will be erected on site where applicable. Any effects on planned navigation passage will be advised at time of making contact, but navigation passage will continue to be possible to arrange during works though some additional restrictions may apply.
Waterways Ireland will issue further updates if appropriate, and thanks its users for their understanding in this matter.

Schleuse 1 bis Schleuse 5, Ausbau des Radweges
Waterways Ireland möchte die Benutzer des Royal Canal zwischen Schleuse 1 und Schleuse 5, North Strand Road bis Phibsborough, darüber informieren, dass vor kurzem die Arbeiten zur Verbesserung des Radweges auf diesem Abschnitt des Kanals begonnen haben. Für diese Arbeiten müssen die Treidelpfade des Kanals in diesem Bereich im kommenden Frühjahr und Sommer gesperrt werden, um die Modernisierungsarbeiten zu erleichtern.
Gegebenenfalls werden vor Ort Umleitungsschilder aufgestellt. Etwaige Auswirkungen auf die geplante Schifffahrt werden bei der Kontaktaufnahme mitgeteilt. Die Schifffahrt wird jedoch während der Arbeiten weiterhin möglich sein, auch wenn es zu zusätzlichen Einschränkungen kommen kann.
