Lower Bann Navigation
European Coarse Angling Competition 29th and 30th June
Waterways Ireland wishes to inform all water users on the Lower Bann Navigation that the European Coarse Angling Competition will take place on 29th and 30th June 2019.
Anglers should note that in advance of the competition on the dates stated above that there will be an angling exclusion zone in place from 10th June to 30th June (incl) from Portglenone bridge to the upstream extent of angling stands on the western bank in place to host the competition (approx. 2.5 km).
This exclusion has been endorsed by the fishery owner The Honourable The Irish Society.
Boaters should note the following; From 10th to 28th June boaters are asked to proceed through the stretch at low wash and keep to the east bank side of the river. During the competition on 29th and 30th June access will be controlled by Community Rescue service and boaters must follow a lead boat to take them through the zone.
Waterways Ireland welcomes the European Coarse Angling Championships to the Lower Bann Navigation and would take this opportunity to thank all waterway users and stakeholders for their co-operation in helping the organisers to host such a prestigious competition in Northern Ireland for the first time.

Europäischer Wettbewerb für Friedfischangeln am 29. und 30. Juni
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Wassernutzer auf der Lower Bann Navigation darüber informieren, dass der Europäische Friedfischangeln wettbewerb am 29. und 30. Juni 2019 stattfinden wird.
Angler sollten beachten, dass vor dem Wettkampf zu den oben genannten Terminen vom 10. Juni bis 30. Juni (inkl.) von der Portglenone-Brücke bis zum stromaufwärts gelegenen Umfang der Angelstände am Westufer, die den Wettkampf ausrichten, eine Angelsperrzone eingerichtet wird (ca. 2,5 km).
Dieser Ausschluss wurde vom Fischereibesitzer The Honourable The Irish Society gebilligt.
Die Bootsfahrer sollten folgendes beachten: Vom 10. bis 28. Juni werden die Bootsfahrer gebeten, die Strecke bei geringer Waschung zu durchlaufen und am Ostufer des Flusses zu halten. Während des Wettbewerbs am 29. und 30. Juni wird der Zugang vom Community Rescue Service kontrolliert und die Bootsfahrer müssen einem führenden Boot folgen, um sie durch die Zone zu bringen.
Waterways Ireland begrüßt die Europameisterschaften im Grobangeln in der Lower Bann Navigation und dankt an dieser Stelle allen Wasserstraßennutzern und Interessenvertretern für ihre Zusammenarbeit bei der Unterstützung der Organisatoren, die erstmals einen so prestigeträchtigen Wettbewerb in Nordirland veranstalten.
