Lanesborough – Ballyleague Road Bridge

Essential Works

Movement and Control of Vessels

Further to Marine Notice No 34 of 2016 Waterways Ireland wishes to advise of the following control measures associated with these works commencing on Mon 25 April or shortly thereafter and continuing for approximately five weeks.
Access through the navigation arch will only be available between 1800hrs in the evening and 0600hrs the following morning, Monday through Friday.
Navigation will be open on Saturdays and Sundays as per normal.
The bridge will be closed to navigation by a string of orange / yellow buoys placed 50m north and south of the bridge.
Divers, workboats and associated equipment will be deployed in the immediate vicinity of the navigation arch and no through traffic for any craft will be permitted.

On completion of the daily work schedule equipment will be hauled off to one side of the bridge and the buoys removed to permit traffic between the hours stated above.
Masters of vessels approaching these works should note any directions given by the works safety boat and /or the lookouts placed north and south of the bridge during working hours who will be equipped with flags and klaxons.

International Code Flag „A“ (blue and white)  indicating the presence fo divers in the water will be displayed north and south f the bridge when divers are working.

Berthage is available at the old stone harbour immediately north of the bridge and also in the new marina harbour south of the bridge, both on the western side of the navigation.

Lanesborough – Ballyleague Road Bridge

Essential Works

Waterways Ireland has been advised by the National Roads Authority that essential works to the Lanesborough- Ballyleague Road Bridge will commence on Mon 25 April and continue for approximately five weeks.

  • All access through the navigation will be restricted to the hours between 1800hrs to 0800hrs the following morning, each day.
  • A boat traffic plan will be in place and further information on this will be issued shortly.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise of the following navigation restrictions :

Sat April 16th
Clondra Canal closed from 0900hrs to 1800hrs
Navigation from Tarmonbarry Bridge to Tarmonbarry Lock closed
from 0900hrs until 1300hrs

Sunday April 17th
Camlin River, Tarmonbarry main Navigation and Clondra canal closed
from 1300hrs until 1600hr

Richmond Harbour
Closed Saturday 16th. Apr from 0900hrs to 1800hrs
Closed Sunday 17th. Apr from 0900hrs to 1230hrs
