Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters that the swimming element of the Lough Key Triathlon event will take place in the vicinity of Castle Island and the Forest Park recreational facilities in Lough Key on Sun 4th Sep from 0900 hrs until 1300 hrs.
Masters of vessels are requested to note the advice of marshals when passing near the swimming course and to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation with this event.
Marine Notice No 105 refers. Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that following survey of this section of the navigation greater siltation than expected has been noted.
The navigable channel on the approaches to the lock will now be marked with buoys. As this is a narrower channel than previously available masters are requested not to berth at the lead-in jetty and are advised also to make their approach to the lock in single file.
