Lock Operating Schedule

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise the following schedule for lock operation of Sarsfield Lock, which are subject to change.

Saturday 17th September 1000hrs to 1300hrs
Saturday 24th September 1400hrs to 1700hrs
Saturday 1st October 1000hrs to 1300hrs
Saturday 15th October 1300hrs to 1600hrs
Saturday 29th October 1400hrs to 1700hrs

The lock keeper can be contacted at the following number 087-7972998 only during the hours of operation as shown above when he will be in attendance to operate the lock.

Royal Canal

Cycle Path Construction

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that the towpath of Royal Canal from Moyvalley to Ballasport and Longford Bridge to Abbeyshrule will be closed with immediate effect to facilitate the construction of cyclepaths. A further Marine Notice will issue on completion.

Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause its customers.

Grand Canal Dock Dragon Boat Regatta

10-11 September 2016

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that there will be a regatta of DRAGON BOATS in Grand Canal Dock on 10-11 September 2016 between 08:30hrs and 18:30hrs.
Masters and owners of vessels operating in the area should refrain from entering the race course and comply with guidance instructions from race officials.
Waterways Ireland thanks their customers for their co-operation in these matters.

Custom House Quay Limerick

Temporary Closure

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all users that due to unforeseen emergency works being required, Custom House Quay jetties are temporarily closed.
It is anticipated that repair works should be completed within a few days.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause its customers.
