Tarmonbarry to Ballyleague

Navigation Closure

The Great River Swim 0900hrs to 1400hrs on Sat 20 May 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and users of the Shannon Navigation that The Great River Swim will take place between Tarmonbarry and Ballyleague on Saturday 20 May 2023.
Approx 800 swimmers will participate in the swim event. The Shannon Navigation between Tarmonbarry lock and Ballyleague bridge will be closed from 0900hrs to 1400hrs on Saturday 20th May 2023. Tarmonbarry lock and Clondara canal lock will be closed from 0900hrs to 1400hrs. Vessels will be prohibited from proceeding upstream from Ballyleague bridge between 0900hrs to 1400hrs.
A series of large bright green and red buoys (branded with Gaelforce) will be positioned along the swim route on the evening of Friday 19th May 2023 and will removed after the swim on Saturday 20th May 2023.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Schiffsführer und Benutzer der Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass am Samstag, den 20. Mai 2023 zwischen Tarmonbarry und Ballyleague das Great River Swim stattfinden wird. Etwa 800 Schwimmer werden an der Veranstaltung teilnehmen.
Die Shannon Navigation zwischen der Tarmonbarry-Schleuse und der Ballyleague-Brücke wird am Samstag, den 20. Mai 2023, von 9.00 bis 14.00 Uhr gesperrt. Die Schleuse von Tarmonbarry und die Schleuse des Clondara-Kanals werden von 9.00 bis 14.00 Uhr geschlossen. Die stromaufwärts gerichtete Fahrt von der Ballyleague-Brücke ist zwischen 0900 und 1400 Uhr verboten.
Entlang der Schwimmstrecke werden am Freitag, den 19. Mai 2023, abends eine Reihe großer,hellgrüner und roter Bojen (mit der Aufschrift Gaelforce) aufgestellt und nach dem Schwimmen am Samstag, den 20. Mai 2023, wieder entfernt.

Castle Museum and Henry Street Jetties – Temporary Closures
Erne Classic coarse fishing competition
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and waterway users on the Erne System that the Castle Museum and Henry Street jetties will be closed to mooring for the following periods to facilitate the Erne Classic coarse fishing competition:
Castle Museum Jetty
– Tuesday 9th May at 08:00hrs to Friday 12th May at 18:00hrs
Henry Street Jetty
– Saturday 6th May at 08:00hrs to Friday 12th May at 18:00hrs
Masters of Vessels and waterways users are requested to proceed with additional caution in the vicinity of the fishing competition and to be aware of possibility of fishing lines in the water.

Waterways Ireland möchte Schiffskapitäne und Wasserstraßennutzer im Erne-System darauf hinweisen, dass die Anlegestellen am Castle Museum und in der Henry Street in den folgenden Zeiträumen für das Anlegen geschlossen werden, um den Erne Classic Wettbewerb im Coarse Fishing zu ermöglichen:
Castle Museum Anlegestelle
– Dienstag, 9. Mai um 08:00 Uhr bis Freitag, 12. Mai um 18:00 Uhr
Anlegestelle Henry Street
– Samstag, 6. Mai um 08:00 Uhr bis Freitag, 12. Mai um 18:00 Uhr
Schiffskapitäne und Wasserstraßenbenutzer werden gebeten, in der Nähe des Angelwettbewerbs zusätzliche Vorsicht walten zu lassen und sich der Möglichkeit von Angelschnüren im Wasser bewusst zu sein.

Emergency repair works to lock gates
Waterways Ireland wishes to inform Masters of Vessels and waterway users that Lock 3, Grand Canal will be closed from Friday 5th May 2023 until Saturday 3rd June 2023 to facilitate emergency repair works to the lock gates.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Schiffsführer und Nutzer der Wasserstraße darüber informieren, dass die Schleuse 3 des Grand Canal von Freitag, den 5. Mai 2023, bis Samstag, den 3. Juni 2023, geschlossen wird, um Notreparaturarbeiten an den Schleusentoren durchzuführen.
Waterways Ireland bedauert jegliche Unannehmlichkeiten, die dadurch entstehen können und dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Mullingar Harbour, Canoe Polo Events, Summer 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of vessels and waterways users on the Royal Canal that the following canoe polo events will take place in Mullingar Harbour during June, July and August 2023:

- - Junior Canoe Polo Competition – Sunday 21st May 2023
  - National Club Championships – 8 & 9 July 2023
  - Overload Canoe Polo Camp – 25 to 27 August 2023

Masters of Vessels are requested to moor outside the harbour area on these dates in order to facilitate the canoe polo events.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Schiffsführer und Wasserstraßenbenutzer auf dem Royal Canal darauf hinweisen, dass im Juni, Juli und August 2023 im Hafen von Mullingar die folgenden Kanupolo-Veranstaltungen stattfinden werden:

- - Kanu-Polo-Wettbewerb für Junioren – Sonntag, 21. Mai 2023
  - Nationale Clubmeisterschaften – 8. und 9. Juli 2023
  - Überlast-Kanupolo-Camp – 25. bis 27. August 2023

Die Schiffsführer werden gebeten, an diesen Tagen außerhalb des Hafengebiets festzumachen, um die Kanupolo-Veranstaltungen zu ermöglichen.
