Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and waterway users on the Erne System that Portora Lock is in operation. During the locks operating times, a lockkeeper will be present and will complete the operation of the lock gates.
Portora Lock operating times are as follows:
8.00am to 10.30pm 7 days a week when in operation.

Erne System, Enniskillen, Betrieb des Portora Lock Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen und Wasserstraßenbenutzer des Erne-Systems darauf hinweisen, dass das Portora Lock in Betrieb ist. Während der Betriebszeiten des Portora Lock ist ein Lockkeeper anwesend, der die Bedienung der Schleusentore übernimmt. Die Betriebszeiten des Portora Lock sind wie folgt:
8.00 Uhr bis 22.30 Uhr an 7 Tagen in der Woche, wenn sie in Betrieb ist.

Temporary closure of lifting bridge, Until Further Notice
Waterways Ireland wishes to inform masters of vessels and waterway users on the Royal Canal that The Downs Lifting Bridge will be closed for canal traffic effective immediately.
This closure is to facilitate emergency repairs due to vandalism.
Further updates will be issued as required.
Waterways Ireland wishes to apologise for any inconvenience that this temporary closure may cause its customers.

Royal Canal, The Downs, Temporäre Schließung der Hebebrücke, bis auf Widerruf Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen und Wasserstraßenbenutzer auf dem Royal Canal darüber informieren, dass die Hebebrücke The Downs ab sofort für den Kanalverkehr gesperrt ist. Diese Sperrung dient der Durchführung von Notreparaturen aufgrund von Vandalismus. Weitere Informationen werden bei Bedarf veröffentlicht. Waterways Ireland möchte sich für alle Unannehmlichkeiten entschuldigen, die diese vorübergehende Schließung für seine Gäste mit sich bringen könnte.
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters and owners of vessels that the Barrow Line will be closed to vessel traffic from McCartneys, Lock 24 to Moores, Lock 25 to enable essential quay wall refurbishment at Bell Harbour. This closure will commence on WEDNESDAY 1st NOVEMBER 2023 for a period of approximately 18 WEEKS.
Mooring in Bell Harbour and through navigation will not be possible in this area for the duration of the works. Vessels moored in Bell Harbour will be accommodated on the 24th & 26th Levels during this period.
Vessels in Bell Harbour are requested to vacate the harbour & 25th Level by Tuesday 31st October 2023. Any craft remaining in this area on the 1st November will be removed to alternative mooring on the 26th Level by Waterways Ireland.

Mc Cartneys Lock 24; Barrow-Line
Moores Lock, 25 Barrow-Line
Grand Canal – Barrow Line, Ankündigung der Kanalsperrung, 25. Ebene – Kaimauersanierung Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass die Barrow Line von McCartneys, Schleuse 24 bis Moores, Schleuse 25 für den Schiffsverkehr gesperrt wird, um die notwendige Sanierung der Kaimauer in Bell Harbour zu ermöglichen. Diese Schließung beginnt am MITTWOCH, 1. NOVEMBER 2023 für einen Zeitraum von etwa 18 WOCHEN. Das Anlegen in Bell Harbour und die Durchfahrt sind in diesem Bereich während der Dauer der Arbeiten nicht möglich. Schiffe, die im Bell Harbour festgemacht haben, werden während dieser Zeit auf den Ebenen 24 und 26 untergebracht. Schiffe im Bell Harbour werden gebeten, den Hafen und die 25. Ebene bis Dienstag, den 31. Oktober 2023, zu verlassen. Alle Schiffe, die sich am 1. November noch in diesem Gebiet befinden, werden von Waterways Ireland zu einem alternativen Liegeplatz auf der 26er Ebene gebracht.
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and waterways users on the Erne System that the Erne Pike Classic will take place from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th October 2023.
Friday 13th Oct involves a shore based angling competition. The Waterways Ireland jetties at Round O (Outside Moorings), Castle Museum, Henry Street and Sligo Road will be closed on Friday 13th October 2023 only to facilitate the shore-based element of the competition.
Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th October involves approx. 100 boats operating between Devenish Island and Carrybridge for the water-based element of the angling competition. During this time, Waterways Ireland advise all masters of vessels to proceed with additional caution in these areas and also to reduce their wash when encountering fishing vessels.

Erne System, Lower und Upper Lough Erne Erne Pike Classic, Freitag, 13. bis Sonntag, 15. Oktober 2023 Waterways Ireland möchte Schiffskapitäne und Wasserstraßenbenutzer auf dem Erne System darauf hinweisen, dass der Erne Pike Classic von Freitag, den 13. bis Sonntag, den 15. Oktober 2023 stattfinden wird. Am Freitag, den 13. Oktober findet ein Angelwettbewerb vom Ufer aus statt. Die Anlegestellen von Waterways Ireland bei Round O (Outside Moorings), Castle Museum, Henry Street und Sligo Road werden am Freitag, den 13. Oktober 2023 geschlossen, um den Wettbewerb an Land zu ermöglichen. Am Samstag, den 14. und Sonntag, den 15. Oktober verkehren ca. 100 Boote zwischen Devenish Island und Carrybridge, um den Angelwettbewerb auf dem Wasser durchzuführen. Waterways Ireland rät allen Schiffsführern, in dieser Zeit in diesen Gebieten besonders vorsichtig zu fahren und bei Begegnungen mit Fischereifahrzeugen die Fahrgeschwindigkeit zu verringern. Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihr Verständnis in dieser Angelegenheit.

Grand Canal, Lock 22 – Reparaturarbeiten, 03. bis 12. Oktober Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffsbesitzer darauf hinweisen, dass von Dienstag, dem 03. Oktober, bis Donnerstag, dem 12. Oktober 2023, an der Schleuse 22 (Cappyroe Bridge) wichtige Reparaturarbeiten durchgeführt werden. Aufgrund dieser Arbeiten wird die Schifffahrt in diesem Zeitraum nicht möglich sein. Waterways Ireland bedauert die dadurch entstehenden Unannehmlichkeiten und bedankt sich bei seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.
