MARINE NOTICE, No 85. of 2021

Renewal of permits and removal of vessels from:
Grand Canal, Royal Canal and Barrow Navigation.

Canal Act 1986 (Bye-Laws) 1988

Waterways Ireland wishes to remind all masters and owners of vessels that all canal permits expired on 1st November 2021 and must now be renewed.
Permits can be renewed online at:
https://www.waterwaysireland.org/online-services/canal-permits.

Vessels not compliant with the Bye-Laws i.e.;

1. 1. Vessels with no permit, Bye Law 6(8)
   2. Vessels non-attended and apparently abandoned, Bye Law 6(8)
   3. Vessels doubled moored and causing obstruction (sunk) , Bye Law 27 (3)
   4. Vessels deemed to be / likely to cause a hazard to navigation, Bye Law 33(3),

will be removed from the Grand canal, Royal Canal and Barrow Navigation as operationally convenient. Removed vessels may then be subsequently disposed of in accordance with Bye Law 34(2).

Erneuerung von Genehmigungen und Entfernung von Booten vom Grand Canal, Royal Canal und Barrow Navigation.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne und Schiffseigner daran erinnern, dass alle Kanalgenehmigungen am 1. November 2021 abliefen und nun erneuert werden müssen.
Die Genehmigungen können online unter.
https://www.waterwaysireland.org/online-services/canal-permits
erneuert werden.

Boote, die die Bye-Laws nicht einhalten, d.h.;

1. 1. Boote ohne Genehmigung, Bye Law 6(8)
   2. Boote, die unbeaufsichtigt sind und offensichtlich verlassen wurden, Bye Law 6(8)
   3. Boote, die doppelt vertäut sind und ein Hindernis darstellen (gesunken sind), Seegesetz 27 (3)
   4. Boote, die eine Gefahr für die Schifffahrt darstellen oder darstellen könnten, Seegesetz 33(3),

werden aus dem Grand Canal, dem Royal Canal und der Barrow Navigation entfernt, wenn dies betrieblich sinnvoll ist. Die entfernten Schiffe können anschließend gemäß Bye Law 34(2) entsorgt werden.
Waterways Ireland bedankt sich bei seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

REMOVAL OF VESSELS FROM GRAND CANAL

SHANNON HARBOUR

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that:

1. 1. Vessels with no permit, Article 6(8)
   2. Vessels non-attended and apparently abandoned, Article 6(8)
   3. Vessels doubled moored and causing obstruction (sunk) , Article 27 (3)
   4. Vessels deemed to be / likely to cause a hazard to navigation, Article 33(3),
      will be removed from the Grand canal at Shannon Harbour and environs on Monday 17 September 2018 or shortly thereafter. Removed vessels may then be subsequently disposed of in accordance with Article 34(2).

Classes of vessels mentioned above will be stickered (given suitable access) and then removed from the navigation.
Waterways Ireland wishes to remind masters and owners that vessels remaining for more than 5 days in one location require an Extended Mooring Permit in addition to their Combined Mooring and Passage permit.
Waterways Ireland wishes to further advise masters and owners of vessels that Article 38(l) states – “No person shall cause or permit any polluting matter to enter the canals, or deposit or cause to be deposited waste oil or any offensive matter on any part of the canal property”. Waterways Ireland intends inspecting vessels for operational effluent holding tanks commencing with Shannon Harbour on Monday 17 September 2018.

Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Eigentümer von Schiffen darauf hinweisen:

1. 1. Schiffe ohne Genehmigung, Artikel 6 Absatz 8
   2. Nicht besetzte und scheinbar stillgelegte Schiffe, Artikel 6 Absatz 8
   3. Verdoppelte Verankerung von Schiffen, die ein Hindernis darstellen (versenkt), Artikel 27 (3)
   4. Schiffe, von denen angenommen wird, dass sie eine Gefahr für die Schifffahrt darstellen, Artikel 33 Absatz 3, wird am Montag, den 17. September 2018 oder kurz danach aus dem Grand Canal in Shannon Harbour und Umgebung entfernt. Die entfernten Schiffe können anschließend gemäß Artikel 34 Absatz 2 beseitigt werden.

Die oben genannten Schiffstypen werden mit einem Aufkleber versehen und dann aus der Navigation entfernt.
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Eigner daran erinnern, dass Schiffe, die länger als 5 Tage an einem Ort bleiben, zusätzlich zu ihrer kombinierten Liege- und Durchfahrtsgenehmigung eine erweiterte Liegegenehmigung benötigen.
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Besitzer von Schiffen weiter darauf hinweisen, dass Artikel 38(l) besagt: „Niemand darf das Eindringen von Schadstoffen in die Kanäle, die Ablagerung von Altöl oder andere anstößige Stoffe auf irgendeinem Teil des Kanaleigentums verursachen oder zulassen“. Waterways Ireland beabsichtigt, ab Montag, dem 17. September 2018, Schiffe auf betriebsbereite Abwassertanks zu untersuchen.

BARROW NAVIGATION

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that:

Non permitted vessels, Article 6(8)
Non attended and apparently abandoned vessels, Article 6(8)
Doubled moored and causing obstruction (sunk) , Article 27 (3)
Vessels deemed to be/likely to cause a hazard to navigation, Article 33(3), will be moved from their current locations at Graiguemanagh and St. Mulins on the Barrow Navigation and may be removed from canal property within two weeks of this notice. Removed vessels may then be subsequently disposed of in accordance with Article 34(2).

Classes of vessels mentioned above will be stickered and then moved/removed from navigation in order to clear berths for both visiting and cruising vessels in key areas.

 Entfernung von Booten und Schiffen aus der BARROW NAVIGATION nach Canal Act 1986 (Bye-Laws) 1988

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Eigner von Schiffen darauf hinweisen:

Nicht zugelassene Schiffe, Artikel 6 Absatz 8
Nicht besuchte und scheinbar stillgelegte Schiffe, Artikel 6 Absatz 8
Doppelt vertäut und behindernd (versenkt), Artikel 27 (3)
Schiffe, bei denen davon ausgegangen wird, dass sie eine Gefahr für die Schifffahrt darstellen, Artikel 33 Absatz 3,
werden von ihren derzeitigen Standorten in Graiguemanagh und St. Mulins auf der Barrow Navigation verlegt und können innerhalb von zwei Wochen nach dieser Bekanntmachung aus dem Kanalgrundstück entfernt werden. Entfernte Schiffe können anschließend gemäß Artikel 34 Absatz 2 entsorgt werden.

Die oben genannten Klassen von Schiffen werden mit einem Aufkleber versehen und dann von der Schifffahrt entfernt, um die Liegeplätze sowohl für Besucher- als auch für Mietboote in Schlüsselbereichen freizumachen.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that all:

a. Non permitted vessels, Article 6(8)
b. Non attended and apparently abandoned vessels, Article 6(8)
c. Doubled moored and causing obstruction (sunk/sinking), Article 27 (3) and Article 31.
d. Vessels deemed to be/likely to cause a hazard to navigation, Article 33(3)
e. Vessels moored in contravention of Article 25(1) (d).

will be moved from their current location and may be removed from canal property within two (2) weeks of this notice. Removed vessels may then be subsequently disposed of in accordance with Article 34(2).
Classes of vessels mentioned above will have a notice placed on them and then moved/removed from navigation in order to clear berths for both visiting and cruising vessels in key areas.
