Heritage Boat Association 2014 Rally

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the Heritage Boat Association Rally will take place from Fri 1st. Aug until Sun 31st. Aug 2014.
The rally will transit from Ballinamore on the Shannon Erne Waterway to the Erne System during this period visiting Belturbet, Carrybridge, Lough Erne Yacht Club, Belleek and returning to Enniskillen.
Masters should be aware the rally will bring extra vessels to the various moorings that they visit and that there may be some congestion associated with its passage.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

ERNE SYSTEM
ENNISKILLEN – CASTLE ISLAND AREA

Waterway Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Erne System that the channel east of Castle Island has been marked by large red buoys to facilitate water based events from Mon 2 Jun until Fri 1 Aug 2014. Vessels will still be able to navigate safely through.
On specific occasions during this time period, the area will be completely shut off by the addition of inflatable booms and strings of small yellow buoys.
Through traffic, during these times, can by-pass the area by using the channel West of Castle Island and are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when doing so.
Masters should note any advice or instructions given by event organisers when in this section of the navigation.
Public jetties in the vicinity will remain accessible throughout though some minor restrictions may be in place as and when required.

ENNISKILLEN – FIREWORKS

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and users of the erne navigation that a fireworks display will take place at castle island, Enniskillen on Thursday 31st October 2013 from 8.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
masters of vessels are advised that there will be no mooring permitted at the Waterways Ireland head office mooring nor at the henry street public jetties on the day of the event in the interest of public safety. navigation in the vicinity of castle island is also prohibited for the duration of the event. alternative mooring is available at the forum and regal pass jetties with easy access to event vantage points.

PORTORA LOCK

Restricted Navigational Access Through Portora Lock Gates on 2nd & 3rd October 2013.

Waterways Ireland has been advised by the Rivers Agency that due to essential maintenance works, navigational access through Portora Lock Gates will be restricted on Wednesday 2st & Thursday 3nd October 2013 between 8am & 5pm. The lock gates at Portora will be in operation during the maintenance works. Whilst navigational access will be facilitated, delays of up to 1 hour can be expected as the works involve the use of an underwater dive team. Access for emergency services will be prioritised should the need arise.
Rivers Agency apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum. Anyone wishing to discuss this matter can contact Rivers Agency on 028 6638 8529.

Es wurde schon viel spekuliert, wo denn nun die neue Lough Erne Golf Resort jetty sei. Hier ist nun die Position des Anlegers aus den Koordinateneckpunkten der Jetty, die „Captain’s Handbook“ von offizieller Stelle übermittelt wurde.

Thanks to Austin, Alun and Waterways Ireland for the GPS coordinates of the four corner points the new Jetty on Lough Erne Golf Ressort.
