GRAND CANAL

Tullamore Cappincur

ROWING EVENT, SAT 3rd. OCTOBER 2015

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Grand Canal that Offaly Rowing Club will be holding a time trial event on Sat 3rd. Oct from 0800hrs until 1600hrs.
The event will be held between Locks 23 and 24 on the Grand Canal at Cappincur, Tullamore.
Navigation will be restricted during the period of the time trials and masters should note any instructions or advice given by the event safety marshals.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation with this event.

Extended Mooring Locations

Waterways Ireland wishes to remind masters and owners of vessels that extended mooring locations on the above navigations are solely for the use of those vessels that have an extended mooring permit and should not be otherwise occupied.

Cambell’s Bridge Event – 31st May 2015

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that there will be an open day on the waterways at the junction of the Grand Canal and the Old Kilbeggan Canal Line on 31st May 2015 organised by Ballycommon Canal Renewal Group.
It is requested that the area directly South of Cambell’s Bridge be kept clear of moorings to facilitate small boating events.
Masters and owners of vessels operating in the area should comply with guidance instructions from event officials.

Barrow Line and Barrow Navigation

Canoeing Event – Sun 31 May

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that there will be a Canoeing Marathon of up to 70 canoeists taking place on the Grand Canal Barrow Line and Barrow Navigation between Athy and Monasterevin on 31 May 2015 between 08:00hrs and 16:00hrs.
Masters and owners of vessels operating in the area should heed advice from race marshals.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused by this restriction and thanks its customers for their co-operation.
