Tarmonbarry Bridge and Lock
Closure–Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd November 2023
Roosky Bridge and Lock
Closure – Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th November 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and waterways users that Tarmonbarry Bridge and Lock will be closed on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd November to facilitate inspection works. This will include diving operations in the vicinity of the bridge.
Rooskey Bridge and Lock will be closed on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th November to facilitate inspection works. This will include diving operations within the vicinity of the bridge.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne von Schiffen und Nutzer von Wasserstraßen darauf hinweisen, dass die Tarmonbarry Brücke und Lock am Mittwoch, den 22. und Donnerstag, den 23. November geschlossen werden, um Inspektionsarbeiten durchzuführen. Dazu gehören auch Taucheinsätze in der Nähe der Brücke.
Die Rooskey-Brücke und -Lock werden am Donnerstag, den 23. und Freitag, den 24. November für Inspektionsarbeiten geschlossen. Dies schließt auch Taucharbeiten in der Nähe der Brücke ein.
Waterways Ireland bedauert alle Unannehmlichkeiten, die dadurch entstehen können, und dankt seinen Besuchern für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Bridge and Lock Closure – Emergency Works
Tuesday 10th May until Friday 13th May 2022

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and water users that Tarmonbarry Bridge and Lock will be closed from:
Tuesday 10th May until Friday 13th May, to facilitate emergency repair works.
An alternative route via the Camlin River is available. Masters of vessels and water users are advised to check their airdraft prior to undertaking the passage on the Camlin River due to the low bridge on the N5 road.
Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused and wishes to thank its customers for their cooperation.

Dienstag, 10. Mai, bis Freitag, 13. Mai 2022
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne und Wassernutzer darauf hinweisen, dass die Tarmonbarry-Brücke und -Schleuse von Dienstag, den 10. Mai, bis Freitag, den 13. Mai, wegen dringender Reparaturarbeiten gesperrt werden.
Eine alternative Route über den Camlin River ist verfügbar. Schiffsführern und Wassersportlern wird empfohlen, vor der Durchfahrt auf dem Camlin River ihre airdraft zu überprüfen, da die Brücke über die Straße N5 niedrig ist.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehmlich-keiten und bedankt sich bei seinen Gästen für ihre Kooperation.

Reopening of lock wef 0900hrs on Saturday 29 May 2021

Waterways Ireland wishes to notify masters of vessels and waterways users that Tarmonbarry lock will be open for use from 0900hrs on Saturday 29th May 2021.
Some restrictions in the operation of the gates remain in place therefore vessels are advised to take additional care when approaching the lock, Waterways Ireland wishes to apologise for the inconvenience caused by this closure.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen und Wasser-straßenbenutzer darüber informieren, dass die Schleuse von Tarmonbarry am Samstag, den 29. Mai 2021, ab 9.00 Uhr für den Verkehr geöffnet sein wird.
Einige Einschränkungen in der Bedienung der Schleusentore bleiben bestehen, daher wird den Schiffen empfohlen, bei der Annäherung an die Schleuse zusätzliche Vorsicht walten zu lassen. Waterways Ireland bittet um Entschuldigung für die Unannehmlichkeiten, die durch diese Schließung entstehen.

Emergency repair works to lock gates

Closure of navigation, From 08th March to 28th April 2021

Waterways Ireland wishes to notify masters of vessels and waterways users that emergency repair works to the lock gates at Tarmonbarry will take place from 08th March to 28th April 2021.
Passage through Tarmonbarry lock will not be possible during this period. The navigation will be closed.
An alternative route via the Camlin River (subject to Government Covid-19 restrictions) will be available during the works. Masters of vessels are advised to check their airdraft prior to undertaking the passage on the Camlin River due to the low bridge on the N5 road.
Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused and wishes to thank its customers for their cooperation.

Notrepaturarbeiten an Schleusentoren
Schließung der Schifffahrt, vom 08. März bis 28. April 2021
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen und Wasser-straßenbenutzer darüber informieren, dass vom 08. März bis zum 28. April 2021 Notreparaturarbeiten an den Schleusentoren in Tarmonbarry stattfinden werden.
Die Durchfahrt durch die Tarmonbarry-Schleuse wird in diesem Zeitraum nicht möglich sein. Die Schifffahrt wird gesperrt sein.
Eine alternative Route über den Camlin River (vorbehaltlich der Einschränkungen der Regierung Covid-19) wird während der Arbeiten verfügbar sein. Den Kapitänen von Schiffen wird empfohlen, vor der Durchfahrt auf dem Camlin River aufgrund der niedrigen Brücke auf der Straße N5 ihren Tiefgang zu überprüfen.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten und dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation.

Restriction in Operation ABBOTT Marathon

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters and users that in order to facilitate the annual Abbott Longford marathon road race on Sunday 25 August 2019 lifting bridge operations will be restricted accordingly.
The following air draft restrictions will apply to the lifting bridges, which will be closed during the time periods indicated below.
Royal Canal & Begnagh Bridge
The bridge will be closed from 0730hrs to 1000 hrs. The Lock keeper may be contacted on 00 353 087 9151400.

Shannon Navigation – Tarmonbarry Bridge (0845 hrs to 1200 hrs)
The air draft at Tarmonbarry at Ordinary Summer Level is 7’9″ (2.35m). The Lock keeper can be contacted during lock opening hours at 00 353 (0)43 3326117 or 087 9222020 for further information.

Shannon Navigation – Rooskey Bridge (0930 hrs to 1245 hrs)
The air draft at Roosky Bridge at Ordinary Summer Level is 10ft (3.025m). There is an air draft gauge erected at the bridge on both Upper and Lower approaches. The Lock keeper can be contacted during lock opening hours at 00 353 (0)71 96 38018 for further information.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne und Benutzer darauf hinweisen, dass der Betrieb von Hebebrücken entsprechend eingeschränkt wird, um den jährlichen Abbott Longford Marathon-Strassenlauf am Sonntag, den 25. August 2019 zu erleichtern.
Die folgenden Einschränkungen gelten für die Hubbrücken, die während der unten angegebenen Zeiträume geschlossen werden.
Royal Canal – Begnagh Brücke
Die Brücke wird von 0730h bis 1000h geschlossen. Der Schleusenwärter ist unter 00 353 087 9151400 zu erreichen.
Shannon Navigation – Tarmonbarry Bridge (0845 Uhr) – 1200 Uhr)
Die Airdraft in der Tarmonbarry auf Normal-Sommerniveau beträgt 2,35 m (7’9″). Für weitere Informationen steht der Schleusenwärter während der Öffnungszeiten der Schleuse unter 00 353 (0)43 3326117 oder 087 9222020 zur Verfügung.
Shannon Navigation – Rooskey Bridge (0930 bis 1245 Uhr)
Die Airdraft an der Roosky Brücke im normalen Sommerniveau beträgt 3.025 m (10 ft). An der Brücke ist sowohl im oberen als auch im unteren Bereich ein Airdraft messer angebracht. Während der Öffnungszeiten der Schleuse ist der Schleusenwärter unter 00 353 (0)71 96 38018 für weitere Informationen erreichbar.
