Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June 2019

Triathlon Event

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the swim element of the triathlon event will take place in Tarmonbarry on Sunday 23rd June 2019 between 0930hrs and 1200hrs. Tarmonbarry lock will be closed to traffic during this time.
Note that the N5 Shannon lifting bridge will also be closed during this time requiring large airdraft vessels to berth north of the bridge for the period.
A children’s swimming event will take place at 1800hrs on Saturday 22nd June in Tarmonbarry, this event will not affect vessels in the navigation.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when approaching this section of the river and heed any instructions issued by the event marshals.

Samstag 22. und Sonntag 23. Juni 2019 Triathlon-Event

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass das Schwimmelement des Triathlon-Events am Sonntag, den 23. Juni 2019 zwischen 09:30 und 1200 Uhr in Tarmonbarry stattfinden wird. Die Schleuse der Tarmonbarry wird in dieser Zeit für den Verkehr gesperrt.
Beachten Sie, dass die Hubbrücke N5 Shannon während dieser Zeit ebenfalls geschlossen sein wird, so dass für diesen Zeitraum große Luftzugschiffe nördlich der Brücke anlegen müssen.
Am Samstag, den 22. Juni um 18.00 Uhr findet in der Tarmonbarry ein Kinderschwimmen statt, von dem die Schiffe in der Schifffahrt nicht betroffen sind.
Die Meister werden gebeten, bei der Annäherung an diesen Flussabschnitt mit langsamer Geschwindigkeit und minimalem Waschgang vorzugehen und alle Anweisungen der Streckenposten zu befolgen.

LONGFORD MARATHON

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters and users that in order to facilitate the annual Pat the Baker Longford marathon road race on Sunday 19 August 2018 lifting bridge operations will be restricted accordingly.
The following air draft restrictions will apply to the lifting bridges, which will be closed during the time periods indicated below.

Royal Canal – Begnagh Bridge

The bridge will be closed from 0830hrs to 1015 hrs. The Lock keeper may be contacted on 00 353 087 9151400.

Shannon Navigation – Tarmonbarry Bridge (0945 hrs to 1215 hrs)

The air draft at Tarmonbarry at Ordinary Summer Level is 7’9″ (2.35m). The Lock keeper can be contacted during lock opening hours at 00 353 (0)43 3326117 or 087 9222020 for further information.

Shannon Navigation – Rooskey Bridge (1045 hrs to 1400 hrs)

The air draft at Roosky Bridge at Ordinary Summer Level is 10ft (3.025m). There is an air draft gauge erected at the bridge on both Upper and Lower approaches. The Lock keeper can be contacted during lock opening hours at 00 353 (0)71 96 38018 for further information.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne und Besucher darauf hinweisen, dass zur Erleichterung des jährlichen Pat the Baker Longford Marathon Straßenrennens am Sonntag, den 19. August 2018, der Betrieb von Hubbrücken entsprechend eingeschränkt wird.
Für die Hubbrücken, die während der unten angegebenen Zeiträume geschlossen werden, gelten die folgenden air draft Beschränkungen:

- Royal Canal – Begnagh Brücke
  Die Brücke ist von 08:30 Uhr bis 1015 Uhr geschlossen. Der Schleusenwärter ist erreichbar unter 00 353 087 9151400.
- Shannon Navigation – Tarmonbarry Brücke (0945 Std. bis 1215 Std.)
  Die air draft bei Tarmonbarry auf gewöhnlichem Sommerniveau beträgt 7’9″ (2.35m). Der Schleusenwärter ist während der Schleusenöffnungszeiten unter 00 353 (0)43 3326117 oder 087 9222020 für weitere Informationen erreichbar.
- Shannon Navigation – Rooskey Brücke (1045 Std. bis 1400 Std.)
  Die air draft an der Roosky-Brücke auf normalem Sommerniveau beträgt 3.025 m (10 Fuß). An der Brücke befindet sich sowohl im oberen als auch im unteren Bereich eine air draft gauge. Der Schleusenwärter ist während der Schleusenöffnungszeiten unter 00 353 (0)71 96 38018 für weitere Informationen erreichbar.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the swim element of triathlon events will take place immediately downstream of Tarmonbarry Lock on Wed 1 Jun between 1930hrs and 2030hrs on Sat 11 Jun between 1800hrs and 1900 hrs and on Sun 12 Jun between 1000hrs and 1200hrs.
Note that the lifting bridge will also be closed during these times requiring large airdraft vessels to berth north of the bridge for the period.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when approaching this section of the river and heed any instructions issued by the event marshals.
