Snorkel and Fin Swim Event

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that this event will take place on Sat 30th Aug 2014 between 1400hrs and 1630hrs.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when approaching swimmers in the water.

Carrick-on-Shannon

Head of River Race

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels that Carrick-on-Shannon Rowing Club will hold a „Head of River“ race on Sat 26th. Feb 2011.  The course will be from Jamestown to Carrick-on-Shannon. The competition will commence at 08.30hrs and finish at 17.30 hrs.
Masters are requested to avoid this stretch of the navigation, if possible, during the race and to be advised by race marshals and safety craft accompanying the race at all times.
Masters should bear in mind that competing craft have very low freeboard and are easily upset by wash from larger vessels. Due care and consideration is required when passing near such craft.
