Carrick Carnival 29 May to 7 June

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that on Sun 31st May between 2200hrs and 2359 hrs, a fireworks display will be conducted from a barge anchored in Murrays Bay, approx. 300 m South of the Town Bridge. No vessels are to approach within 100m of the barge during the firing routine.
On Mon 1 June between 1400hrs and 1700hrs a raft race and a swimming event will take place within the immediate vicinity of the Town Bridge, note that swimmers will cross from one side of the navigation during this event.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash while keeping a sharp look-out at all times when in this area and to note any directions given by the attending safety boats.

Waterways Ireland wishes to remind masters and owners of vessels that these „Blue Way“ routes are active and canoeists, kayakers and other paddlers should be expected to be encountered.
Masters should navigate with due caution.

Bagenalstown Lock

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Bagenalstown Lock on the River Barrow Navigation will be open from Thursday 21st May to Tuesday 9th June inclusive.
A further Marine Notice will be issued on Friday 12th June regarding another closure, to facilitate the completion of works downstream of the Lock.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused by this restriction.

Cambell’s Bridge Event – 31st May 2015

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that there will be an open day on the waterways at the junction of the Grand Canal and the Old Kilbeggan Canal Line on 31st May 2015 organised by Ballycommon Canal Renewal Group.
It is requested that the area directly South of Cambell’s Bridge be kept clear of moorings to facilitate small boating events.
Masters and owners of vessels operating in the area should comply with guidance instructions from event officials.
