Custom House Mooring Maintenance

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that maintenance to pontoon decking at this mooring will take place from Mon 11 May until Fri 22 May 2015.
Masters/ Owners presently at this mooring are requested to vacate the berths not later than Sun 10 May.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the „Shannon Blueway Adventure Festival“ will be taking place this weekend, 1st – 4th May, in Leitrim Village.
Numerous canoes and kayaks will be in attendance. Masters are requested to approach the area at slow speed and with minimum wash to avoid creating any hazard for smaller craft.

Castle Island – Water Activity Area

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and users of the Erne System that the channel east of Castle Island, Enniskillen will be closed for the months of May to September inclusive.
This is to create a safe water activity space for use by clubs, events and the public.
Mariners should use the navigation channel to the west of Castle Island and proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash adhering to any instructions or displayed signage.

ESB Investigation Works

Waterways Ireland has been advised by ESB Ardnacrusha that they intend carrying out investigation works on the Ardnacrusha Headrace Bridge at Blackwater Bridge and the tailrace bridge at Parteen Bridge from Tues 5th until Fri 22nd May. There will be a pontoon at each bridge to provide access. Masters are requested to proceed with due caution.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that it is planned to have the Barrow Navigation open again at Bagenalstown Lock by Friday 29th May, thereby facilitating passage of Barges on the Barrow Rally from Vicarstown to Graiguemanagh and back to Borris.
