MARINE NOTICE, No. 90 of 2015

SHANNON NAVIGATION

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that river based research will take place in the Mid Shannon at the area of White’s Ford and the adjacent island cluster (Long & Portland islands approx. 3 to 4 Km North of Portumna Bridge).
The river based research will be conducted from the vessel M/V JAMES AND MARY and its tenders. The vessel will be lying at anchor in charted waters off and within the marked navigation. Research will take place at various times throughout the summer period based on the results of the ongoing research.

Masters and owners of vessels operating in the area should navigate with caution in the vicinity of M/V JAMES AND MARY.

Tarmonbarry Lock 2nd July 2015

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Waterways Ireland plan to carry out repairs to Tarmonbarry Lock and shall be interrupting passage through the lock, occasionally, on Thursday 2nd July.
An alternative route is available via the Camlin River.
Lock Keeper may be contacted on 043 3326117 or 087 9222020 for updates throughout the day.
Masters and owners of vessels operating in the area should comply with guidance instructions.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused by this restriction.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that there will be a canoe slalom race in Boolykeogh Harbour near Longwood on the Royal Canal on 5th July 2015 between 10:00hrs and 15:00hrs.
Masters and owners of vessels operating in the area should comply with guidance instructions from event officials.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused by this restriction.

Custom House Quay Moorings

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that works on replacing the decking on the Customs House Quay Moorings in Limerick will commence next week. To facilitate the works, it will be necessary to close the moorings to boats from Monday 6th July to Monday 13th July, inclusive.

Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.
