Mullingar, Scanlan’s Bridge

Canal Closure for Essential Maintenance

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the Royal Canal, at Scanlon’s Bridge, Mullingar will be closed for essential maintenance works on the pedestrian bridge. The closure will be from Monday 1st December until Wednesday 23rd December.

Waterways Ireland wishes to apologise to its customers for any inconvenience caused during the course of these works. For any further information or updates please contact the Eastern Regional Office (01 868 0148).

Access Curtailed due to Flooding

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters, owners and users of the Shannon Navigation that the downstream quay at Shannonbridge is flooded due to recent heavy rainfall and access is now curtailed.

Seasonal Removal of Access Ramp at Public Mooring

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters, owners and users of the Shannon Navigation that the access ramp to the public mooring at Clonmacnoise will be removed for the winter period during this week, as water levels have risen due to recent heavy rainfall.

Drumleague Lock to Drumshanbo Lock

Closed to Navigation

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters, owners and users of the Shannon Navigation that a canal breach on the Lough Allen canal has closed navigation between Drumleague Lock and Drumshabo Lock until further notice while repairs are effected.

Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause its customers.

Vicarstown, Barrow Line – Camac Aqueduct

Structural Repairs

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the Grand Canal Barrow Line, Vicarstown, at the Camac aqueduct will be closed from Wed 25 Nov until Mon 21 Dec 2015 to facilitate structural repairs.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience this may cause its customers.
