Waterways Ireland wishes to remind masters and owners of vessels that the winter mooring period finishes on the Shannon Navigation which includes the Shannon- Erne Waterway on Thurs 31 Mar.2016.
In commeration of events of 1916 at Grand Canal Quay on the inner dock of Grand Canal Dock 28 March 2016
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and owners of vessels berthed In Grand Canal Dock at the Visitor’s Centre berths that there will be restricted movement of personnel on the visitor’s jetties on 28 March 2016 between the hours of 13:00 hrs and 14:00hrs to facilitate a wreath laying ceremony.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in this matter.

Marine Notice No 8 of 2016 refers. Waterways Ireland has been advised by Longford Co.Co that their works at Fowlards Bridge, where the canal meets the N55 north of Ballymahon ,will continue until Thursday 24 Mar 2016. The canal remains closed until this work is completed.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Lock 3 Skelan on the Shannon-Erne Waterway will be closed to boat traffic from Monday 14th March 2016 until Friday 25th March 2016, weather permitting.
The lock will remain closed over this period to facilitate remedial works to the lock operating system.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Lock 2 Ballyconnell on the Shannon-Erne Waterway will be closed to boat traffic from Monday 14th March 2016 until Friday 25th March 2016, weather permitting.
The lock will remain closed over this period to facilitate the re-alignment of the navigation channel adjacent to the fixed landing jetty on the lower level. This remedial work is as a result of the flood levels experienced at this location over the winter period.
