Shannon-Erne Waterway

Lock 2 Ballyconnell – Aghalane

Temporary Delays

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that they may experience short term delays between Lock 2 Ballyconnell and Aghalane on the Shannon-Erne Waterway between 10am and 3pm on Thursday 18th May due the „Paddles Up“ event on the Shannon-Erne Blueway.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when approaching the canoeists and heed any instructions issued by the event marshals.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Lock 8 Castlefore

Temporary closure for works

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Lock 8 Castlefore on the Shannon-Erne Waterway will be closed to boat traffic on Wednesday 17th May 2017 between 10am and 2pm.
The lock will remain closed during this period to facilitate emergency remedial works to the sluice gates.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Vessel Registers Data Protection Review

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and Owners of vessels that it is presently conducting a Data Protection review of its vessel registers in line with current legislation via text messaging.
Registered Owners are requested to respond at their earliest convenience.
