Niall Galway has taken excellent photos last weekend during a visit to the construction site at the Meelick-/Victoria lock. I think this documentation of the exchange of the lower lock gates shows once in a while how much effort is required for the maintenance of the „Inland Waterways Ireland“ to make it possible for us to sail from Killaloe to Beleek.

Die Arbeiten an der Meelick-Schleuse (Victoria-Lock) schreiten voran
Niall Galway hat letztes Wochenende bei einem Besuch an der Baustelle der Meelick-/Victoria-Schleuse exzellente Fotos gemacht. Ich finde diese Dokumentation des Austausches der unteren Schleusentore und der weiteren Reparaturarbeiten einmalig und sie zeigt, wieviel Aufwand bei der Instandhaltung der „Inland Waterways Ireland“ erforderlich ist, um es uns möglich zu machen, von Killaloe nach Beleek zu schippern.
