Re-opening of the Locks

Operating times from 8th June 2020

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon Navigation of the following information regarding the reopening of the Locks from 8th June 2020:

Lock Operating Hours (Phase 2)

8th to 29th June

9am – 5pm daily

Lock Passage fee

Lock passage will be free from 8th June until further notice.

Low Water Levels

Master of vessels are reminded that all sections of the Shannon Navigation are near or below Ordinary Summer Levels. Deep draft vessels should stay in the navigation at all times and proceed with additional caution.

Wiedereröffnung der Schleusen – Betriebszeiten ab 8. Juni 2020

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Nutzer der Shannon-Schifffahrt auf die folgenden Informationen bezüglich der Wiedereröffnung der Schleusen ab dem 8. Juni 2020 hinweisen:

Betriebszeiten der Schleusen (Phase 2)

8. bis 29. Juni

täglich von 9 bis 17 Uhr

Schleusen Durchgangsgebühr

Die Schleusendurchfahrt wird ab dem 8. Juni bis auf weiteres frei sein.

Niedrige Wasserstände

Die Schiffskapitäne werden daran erinnert, dass alle Abschnitte der Shannon-Navigation in der Nähe oder unterhalb der gewöhnlichen Sommer-Niveaus liegen. Schiffe mit tiefem Tiefgang sollten zu jeder Zeit in der Navigation bleiben und mit zusätzlicher Vorsicht vorgehen.

Grand Canal – Cappincur Area

Closure of Southern Towpath between Digby Bridge at Cappincur and Ballycommon Bridge

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise their customers that the towpath on south side of the Grand Canal between Digby Bridge at Cappincur and Ballycommon Bridge will be closed to users from the 8th June 2020 to the 7th September 2020 to facilitate the construction of the Grand Canal greenway.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in this matter.

Grand Canal – Cappincur-Gebiet
Schließung des südlichen Towpath zwischen der Digby-Brücke bei Cappincur und der Ballycommon-Brücke
Waterways Ireland möchte seine Kunden darauf hinweisen, dass der Treidelpfad auf der Südseite des Grand Canal zwischen der Digby-Brücke bei Cappincur und der Ballycommon-Brücke vom 8. Juni 2020 bis zum 7. September 2020 für Benutzer gesperrt wird, um den Bau der Grünfläche des Grand Canal zu erleichtern.

LOW WATER LEVELS – CAUTIONARY WARNING

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon-Erne Waterway that water levels have dropped below Ordinary Summer Levels due to low rainfall in recent weeks.
Masters of vessels, particularly those with deep drafts, are advised to navigate with additional caution and to remain within the navigation at all times.

SEW NIEDRIGE WASSERSTÄNDE – VORBEUGENDE WARNUNG
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Nutzer des Shannon-Erne-Wasserweges darauf hinweisen, dass die Wasserstände aufgrund der geringen Niederschläge der letzten Wochen unter die normalen Sommerpegel gefallen sind.
Schiffskapitäne, insbesondere solche mit tiefem Tiefgang, werden gebeten, mit zusätzlicher Vorsicht zu fahren und stets innerhalb der Navigation zu bleiben.

SHANNON-ERNE WATERWAY

ROADMAP FOR RE-OPENING OF THE LOCKS

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon-Erne Waterway of the following information regarding the reopening of the Locks from 8th June 2020:

Lock Operating Hours

8th June	19th July 9am	5pm daily
20th July	9th August 9am	6pm daily
10th August	onwards	9am – 8pm daily

Lock Passage

Lock passage shall be free from the 8th June – 9th August as no units shall be deducted from the smart card during a lock operation. A smart card shall be required to operate the lock at all times to facilitate a lock passage.

Smart Cards

Please note, Waterway Patrollers will be unable to sell smart cards to our customers at this time. Smart cards are to be purchased in advanced of embarking on a journey. Smart Cards can be purchased on Waterways Ireland’s web shop or from designated retail outlets along the waterway.

Betriebszeiten der Schleusen

8. Juni	19. Juli	9.00 – 17.00 Uhr täglich
20. Juli	9. August	9.00 – 18.00 Uhr täglich
10. August	ab	9.00 – 20.00 Uhr täglich

Schleusendurchgang
Der Schleusendurchgang ist vom 8. Juni bis 9. August frei, da während einer Schleusenoperation keine Einheiten von der Chipkarte abgezogen werden dürfen. Um die Schleuse jederzeit bedienen zu können, ist eine Chipkarte erforderlich, um die Schleusendurchfahrt zu erleichtern.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass Waterway Patrolers derzeit keine Chipkarten an unsere Kunden verkaufen kann. Smart Cards müssen vor Antritt der Reise gekauft werden. Smart Cards können im Webshop von Waterways Ireland oder in ausgewiesenen Einzelhandelsgeschäften entlang der Wasserstraße erworben werden.
