Reopened after emergency repair works

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and water users that Tarmonbarry Lock is has reopened after emergency repair works.
Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused and wishes to thank its customers for their cooperation.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne und Wasserbenutzer darüber informieren, dass die Tarmonbarry-Schleuse nach dringenden Reparatur-arbeiten wieder geöffnet ist.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehm-lichkeiten und bedankt sich bei seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation.

Royal Canal

2nd Lock & 4th Lock – gate repair and measuring works

Closed to navigation from 12 April for 2 weeks

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels on the Royal Canal – 2nd Lock and 4th Lock – that there will be no boat passages permitted from next Tuesday 12th April for 2 weeks due to gate repair, gate measurement and associated works. Sections of towpath on the south side of the canal also require closure during this time.
Waterways Ireland thanks Master of Vessels for their co-operation.

Royal Canal 2. und 4. Schleuse – Torreparatur und Messarbeiten
Ab dem 12. April für 2 Wochen für die Schifffahrt geschlossen
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen auf dem Royal Canal – 2nd Lock und 4th Lock – darauf hinweisen, dass ab kommenden Dienstag, dem 12. April, zwei Wochen lang keine Bootsdurchfahrten möglich sind, da Reparaturen an den Toren, Messungen an den Toren und damit verbundene Arbeiten durchgeführt werden. Auch Abschnitte des Treidelpfades auf der Südseite des Kanals müssen in dieser Zeit gesperrt werden.
Waterways Ireland bedankt sich bei Master of Vessels für ihre Kooperation.

Public Harbours

End of Winter Mooring Period

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of vessels that the winter mooring period ended on 31 Mar 2022.

Shannon Navigation Bye-law No. 17(3) now applies i.e. vessels should not berth in the same harbour for longer than the statutory period of 5 consecutive days nor more than a total of 7 days in any one month.

Öffentliche Häfen, Ende der Winterliegezeit
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen darauf hinweisen, dass die Winterliegezeit am 31. März 2022 endet.
Es gilt nun die Shannon Navigation Bye-law Nr. 17(3), d.h. Schiffe dürfen nicht länger als die gesetzlich vorgeschriebene Zeit von 5 aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen und nicht länger als insgesamt 7 Tage in einem Monat im selben Hafen anlegen.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Mitarbeit.

Tarmonbarry Lock

Closure due to emergency works
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and water users that Tarmonbarry Lock is closed with immediate effect until further notice, due to emergency repair works.
An alternative route via the Camlin River is available. Masters of vessels and water users are advised to check their airdraft prior to undertaking the passage on the Camlin River due to the low bridge on the N5 road.
Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused and wishes to thank its customers for their cooperation.

Schließung aufgrund von Notreparaturen
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne und Wassernutzer darauf hinweisen, dass Tarmonbarry Lock wegen dringender Reparaturarbeiten mit sofortiger Wirkung bis auf Weiteres geschlossen ist.
Eine alternative Route über den Camlin River ist verfügbar. Schiffskapitäne und Wassernutzer werden gebeten, vor der Durchfahrt auf dem Camlin River ihre airdraft zu überprüfen, da die Brücke über die N5 niedrig ist.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehm-lichkeiten und bedankt sich bei seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation.

Opening dates during ongoing emergency repair works

Waterways Ireland wishes to notify Master of Vessels on the Royal Canal due to ongoing mechanical issues with Begnagh Bridge, the bridge can only be operated manually on scheduled dates as follows;

      • Friday, April 15th, 2022 – 1000hrs
      • Thursday, April 28th, 2022 – 1000hrs
      • Friday, May 13th, 2022 – 1000hrs
      • Friday, May 27th, 2022 – 1000hrs
      • Friday, June 10th, 2022 – 1000hrs
      • Friday, June 24th, 2022 – 1000hrs

Prior notice must be given 2 days in advance to the Water patroller in Clondra on 087-9151400.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Schiffsführer auf dem Royal Canal davon in Kenntnis setzen, dass die Begnagh-Brücke aufgrund mechanischer Probleme nur zu folgenden Terminen manuell bedient werden kann
      • Freitag, 15. April 2022 – 1000Uhr
      • Donnerstag, 28. April 2022 – 1000 Uhr
      • Freitag, 13. Mai 2022 – 1000 Uhr
      • Freitag, 27. Mai 2022 – 1000 Uhr
      • Freitag, 10. Juni 2022 – 1000 Uhr
      • Freitag, 24. Juni 2022 – 1000 Uhr

Eine Voranmeldung muss 2 Tage im Voraus beim Wasserwart in Clondra unter 087-9151400 erfolgen.
