Grand Canal
Summit Level – Culvert Replacement
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters and owners of vessels that works will be commencing on the summit level (approximately 450 metres east of Lock 19, Lowtown) from Thursday, 2nd November 2023. These works are to replace a damaged culvert under the canal and are expected to last approximately 10 weeks.
Navigation will not be possible in this area for the duration of the works.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Grand Canal, Gipfelhöhe – Austausch des Durchlasses
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass ab Donnerstag, den 2. November 2023, Arbeiten auf der Scheitelhöhe (ca. 450 Meter östlich von Schleuse 19, Lowtown) beginnen werden. Diese Arbeiten dienen dem Austausch eines beschädigten Durchlasses unter dem Kanal und werden voraussichtlich etwa 10 Wochen dauern.
Die Schifffahrt wird in diesem Bereich für die Dauer der Arbeiten nicht möglich sein.
Waterways Ireland bedauert alle Unannehmlichkeiten, die dadurch entstehen können, und dankt seinen Gästen für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.
