Temporary Closure of Blueway Drumhauver Bridge to Acres Lake
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and waterway users that essential tree and vegetation works will take place along the Lough Allen Canal between Drumhauver Bridge and Acres Lake, Drumshanbo, to manage the impact of ash dieback.
This section of the Blueway will remain closed to the public from Monday, 16th February to Friday, 27th February 2026 during working hours. 08:30 – 17:30 daily.
These works follow extensive arboricultural surveys and ecologist screening. Concurrent with the vegetation removal, a tree replanting programme will also commence.
All users are requested to respect the closures and adhere to on-site health and safety requirements. Please co-operate fully with staff on site.

Vorübergehende Sperrung der Blueway Drumhauver Bridge zum Acres Lake
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffsführer und Wasserstraßennutzer darauf hinweisen, dass entlang des Lough Allen Canal zwischen der Drumhauver Bridge und dem Acres Lake in Drumshanbo wichtige Baum- und Vegetationsarbeiten durchgeführt werden, um die Auswirkungen des Eschensterbens zu bekämpfen.
Dieser Abschnitt des Blueway bleibt vom Montag, 16. Februar, bis Freitag, 27. Februar 2026, während der Arbeitszeiten täglich von 08:30 bis 17:30 Uhr für die Öffentlichkeit gesperrt.
Diese Arbeiten folgen auf umfangreiche baumpflegerische Untersuchungen und ökologische Untersuchungen. Parallel zur Entfernung der Vegetation wird auch ein Programm zur Wiederaufforstung gestartet.
Alle Nutzer werden gebeten, die Sperrungen zu respektieren und die Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsvorschriften vor Ort einzuhalten. Bitte arbeiten Sie uneingeschränkt mit den Mitarbeitern vor Ort zusammen.
