Shannon–Erne Waterway

Reopening of Navigation

Issued: 26 February 2026

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels that the Shannon–Erne Waterway between Lock 16 and Lock 9 will reopen to navigation on Friday, 6 March.
In addition, Lock 1 and Lock 2 are now open as water levels have receded to safe operational levels.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience caused and understanding of all waterway users.

Wiedereröffnung der Navigation auf dem Shannon–Erne-Waterway

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen darüber informieren, dass der Shannon–Erne-Waterway zwischen Lock 16 und Lock 9 am Freitag, dem 6. März, wieder für die Schifffahrt geöffnet wird.
Darüber hinaus sind Lock 1 und Lock 2 nun geöffnet, da der Wasserstand auf ein sicheres Betriebsniveau gesunken ist.
Waterways Ireland bedauert die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten und bittet alle Nutzer des SEW um Verständnis.
