Victoria Lock – Out of operation – 20 August 2020

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon Navigation that Victoria Lock is current out of operation due to a power cut.
A fallen tree has cut all power to the Meelick area. It is unknown when power will be restored. Waterways Users will be advised when the lock is operational again.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Benutzer der Shannon-Schifffahrt darauf hinweisen, dass die Victoria-Schleuse derzeit aufgrund eines Stromausfalls außer Betrieb ist.
Ein umgestürzter Baum hat den gesamten Strom zum Meelick-Gebiet unterbrochen. Es ist nicht bekannt, wann die Stromversorgung wiederhergestellt wird. Die Benutzer der Wasserstraßen werden informiert, wenn die Schleuse wieder betriebsbereit ist.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Zusammenarbeit in dieser Angelegenheit.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that it may be necessary for operational reasons to lower the minimum water level on the upstream sill at Victoria Lock, Meelick from 1.80 metres to approximately 1.65 metres at certain times over the coming weeks.

Masters of vessels with a deep draft that could potentially be affected by this change are advised to contact the lock keeper at Victoria Lock, Meelick, tel. number 00 353 (0) 57 915 1359.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Victoria Lock will be without power from 9.30am to 2.30pm Thursday 26th March, due to essential repair works by E.S.B.

Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause its customers.
