Shannon Erne Waterway

High water levels, Cautionary warning

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that high water levels exist in all areas of the Shannon Erne Waterway.
The lower jetties at Locks 2, 3, 5 and 7 are currently submerged.
The current across the navigation at Lock 15 is strong and could affect low powered vessels.
Air draft under bridges has been reduced as a result of the high-water levels, masters of high vessels are advised to navigate with additional caution in the vicinity of bridges.
Masters of Vessels should consult with the Water Patrollers prior to undertaking a passage on the Shannon Erne Waterway during Mon 9th and Tues 10th August 2021.

Hoher Wasserstand, Warnung zur Vorsicht
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Bootsbesitzer darauf hinweisen, dass in allen Bereichen des Shannon Erne Waterway ein hoher Wasserstand herrscht.
Die unteren Anlegestellen an den Schleusen 2, 3, 5 und 7 sind derzeit überflutet.
Die Strömung in der Schleuse 15 ist stark und könnte Schiffe mit geringer Leistung beeinträchtigen.
Der Luftraum unter den Brücken ist aufgrund des hohen Wasserstandes reduziert. Kapitäne von Schiffen mit hohem Wasserstand werden gebeten, in der Nähe von Brücken besonders vorsichtig zu fahren.
Kapitäne von Schiffen sollten sich mit den Wasserschutzbeamten beraten, bevor sie am Montag, den 9. und Dienstag, den 10. August 2021 eine Fahrt auf dem Shannon Erne Waterway unternehmen.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that low water levels are being experienced on the Grand Canal. Water levels are currently down 500mm in some areas.
Masters of vessels are advised to proceed with additional caution and to contact the water patroller for latest advice and assistance.
Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Grand Canal, Niedrige Wasserstände, Warnhinweis zur Vorsicht
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Bootsbesitzer darauf hinweisen, dass auf dem Grand Canal niedrige Wasserstände zu verzeichnen sind. Der Wasserstand liegt derzeit in einigen Gebieten um 500 mm niedriger.
Die Kapitäne der Schiffe werden gebeten, besonders vorsichtig zu fahren und sich an die Aufsichtspersonen zu wenden, um aktuelle Informationen und Hilfe zu erhalten.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehmlich-keiten.

Shannon Navigation – Athlone

Cautionary Advice

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that instream work will commence on the New Slipway South of the Athlone Lock from the 4th August 2021 (and on the East Bank Approximately 200 metres South of the Weir). Temporary green navigation aids will be placed on the western extremities of the works area.
Masters of vessels are advised to proceed with additional caution at slow speed and keep to the west bank while navigating in this area.
Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Shannon Navigation – Athlone, Warnhinweis zur Vorsicht
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Bootsbesitzer darauf hinweisen, dass ab dem 4. August 2021 an der neuen Slipway südlich der Athlone-Schleuse (und am Ostufer ca. 200 m südlich des Wehrs) Arbeiten im Fluss durchgeführt werden. Vorübergehende grüne Navigationshilfen werden an den westlichen Enden des Arbeitsbereichs aufgestellt.
Die Kapitäne von Schiffen werden gebeten, in diesem Bereich mit erhöhter Vorsicht und langsamer Geschwindigkeit zu fahren und sich am Westufer zu halten.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehmlich-keiten.

Masters of vessels are advised to proceed with additional caution and to contact the water patroller for latest advice and assistance.

Niedriger Wasserstand am 26. Level, Vorsorglicher Hinweis
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass auf der 26. Ebene (Long Level) der Grand Canal Barrow Line ein niedriger Wasserstand herrscht. Der Wasserstand ist derzeit um 400 mm gesunken.
Den Schiffsführern wird empfohlen, mit besonderer Vorsicht vorzugehen und die Wasseraufsichtsbehörde zu kontaktieren, um aktuelle Hinweise und Unterstützung zu erhalten.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten.

Navigatioral Markers at Hexagon Shoal & Hare Island
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that caution should be exercised when navigating in the vicinity of the Hexagon Shoal and Hare Island on Lough Ree.
Masters of vessels should always ensure that they use an up-to-date navigation guide / charting system when navigating on the Shannon Navigation.
Please see chartlet for layout of navigation marker in the area.

Navigatioral Markers at Hexagon Shoal & Hare Island
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Bootsbesitzer darauf hinweisen, dass bei der Navigation in der Nähe der Hexagon Shoal und der Hare Island im Lough Ree Vorsicht geboten ist.
Kapitäne von Schiffen sollten immer sicherstellen, dass sie ein aktuelles Navigationshandbuch/Kartensystem verwenden, wenn sie auf der Shannon Navigation navigieren.
Die Anordnung der Seezeichen in diesem Gebiet entnehmen Sie bitte dem Kartenblatt.
