Shannon Navigation

Locks Operating at Summer Hours from Monday 20th July 2020

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon Navigation that the locks will be operating at Summer Hours from Monday 20th July 2020:

Lock Operating Hours

- 9am – 8.30pm from Mon to Sat
- 9am – 6pm on Sundays

Lock Passage fee

- Lock passage will continue to be free until further notice.

Schleusen in Betrieb während der Sommerzeit ab Montag, 20. Juli 2020
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Benutzer der Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass die Schleusen ab Montag, dem 20. Juli 2020 zu den Sommerzeiten in Betrieb sein werden:

Betriebszeiten der Schleusen

- 9.00 – 20.30 Uhr von Mo bis Sa
- 9.00 – 18.00 Uhr an Sonntage

Schleusen Durchgangsgebühr

- Der Schleusendurchgang bleibt bis auf weiteres frei.

Low Water Leveles on UPSTREAM approaches to MEELICK AND VICTORIA LOCK

CAUTIONARY WARNING

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that low water levels exist on the upstream approaches to Meelick and Victoria Lock.
Water levels are currently up to 45cm below Summer levels.
The reason for the localised low water levels is that weir boards are out at Meelick weir which creates a draw-down of water levels in the area.
Masters of vessels, particularly those with deep drafts, are advised to navigate with additional caution and to remain within the navigation at all times.

Niedriger Wasserstand bei der Annäherung von UPSTREAM an MEELICK AND VICTORIA LOCK
WARNHINWEIS
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass es bei den flussaufwärts gelegenen Zufahrten zur Meelick- und Victoria-Schleuse niedrige Wasserstände gibt.
Die Wasserstände liegen derzeit bis zu 45 cm unter dem Sommerpegel.
Der Grund für die örtlich begrenzten Niedrigwasserstände liegt darin, dass sich am Meelick Wehr Wehr Wehr Wehrbretter befinden, was zu einem Absinken der Wasserstände in dem Gebiet führt.
Schiffskapitänen, insbesondere solchen mit tiefem Tiefgang, wird empfohlen, mit zusätzlicher Vorsicht zu fahren und jederzeit innerhalb der Navigation zu bleiben.

Albert Lock, Possible delays on Wed 15th July 2020

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon Navigation that there may be delays at Albert Lock on Wed 15th July 2020 from 0800hrs to 1630hrs.
Essential maintenance to the lock gates will be carried out during this time.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Albert Lock, Mögliche Verzögerungen am Mittwoch, 15. Juli 2020
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Nutzer der Shannon-Schifffahrt darauf hinweisen, dass es am Mittwoch, den 15. Juli 2020 an der Albert Lock zu Verspätungen von 0800 Uhr bis 1630 Uhr kommen kann.
Während dieser Zeit werden wesentliche Wartungsarbeiten an den Schleusentoren durchgeführt.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Zusammenarbeit in dieser Angelegenheit.

Albert Lock, Possible delays on Tuesday 7th July 2020

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon Navigation that there may be delays at Albert Lock on Tuesday 7th July 2020 from 0800hrs to 1630hrs.
The removal of the old lock gates from the site may interrupt Lock operations thereby causing some delays for boaters.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Albert Lock, Mögliche Verzögerungen am Dienstag, 7. Juli 2020
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Nutzer der Shannon-Schifffahrt darauf hinweisen, dass es am Dienstag, den 7. Juli 2020 an der Albert Lock zu Verspätungen von 0800 Uhr bis 1630 Uhr kommen kann.
Die Entfernung der alten Schleusentore von der Baustelle könnte den Schleusenbetrieb unterbrechen und dadurch einige Verzögerungen für die Bootsfahrer verursachen.

Kilglass, Slipway – Precautions

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon Navigation that due care to be taken when using the Kilglass slipway due to stone material at the lower end of the slipway.
A gabion has opened along the end of the slipway and some of the stone has slipped onto the end of the slipway.

Kilglass, Slipway – Vorsichtsmaßnahmen
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und die Benutzer der Shannon-Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass bei der Benutzung der Kilglass Slipanlage wegen des Steinmaterials am unteren Ende der Slipanlage gebührende Vorsicht geboten ist.
Eine Gabion hat sich am Ende der Helling geöffnet und ein Teil des Steins ist auf das Ende der Helling gerutscht.
