Lock Closures 23 March 2018

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters and owners of vessels that, due to essential staff training on Friday 23 March from 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs, navigation through locks on the Shannon Navigation system will not be possible.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience this may cause its customers.

Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigentümer darauf hinweisen, dass aufgrund der notwendigen Schulung des Personals am Freitag, den 23. März von 08:00 Uhr bis 18:00 Uhr die Navigation durch Schleusen des Shannon Navigationssystems nicht möglich sein wird.
Waterways Ireland bedauert jegliche Unannehmlichkeiten, die dies für seine Gäste und Kunden mit sich bringt.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters and owners of vessels that the Shannon Erne Waterway is closed to Navigation until further notice, due to a tragic incident at Lock 16.

Two Provinces Triathlon Event Sat 16 July 2016

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the swim element of the above event will take place immediately downstream of the Lanesboro Ballyleague bridge, on the eastern bank, on Sat 16 July between 0900hrs and 1300hrs.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when approaching this section of the river and heed any instructions issued by the event marshals.

Rossmore Quay

Fährt man etwas weiter nach Süden befindet sich der Rossmore Quay an Steuerbord auf der Country Clare-Seite.
Der Kurs zum Quay ist ebenso wie der nach Kilgarvan sehr mit Untiefen übersäht. Man muß also sehr genau in der Navigation bleiben und die Felsen beachten. Es gibt keine Probleme, solange man darauf achtet, die relevanten Markierungen nicht zu überschreiten.
Bei Rossmore gibt es nicht viel außer Ruhe und Frieden. Meistens ist im Sommer der Quay bei den einheimischen Familien beliebt, wenn das Wetter gut ist. Man hat einen guten Zugang zum Schwimmen. Übrigens ist der Anleger auch bei Fischern sehr beliebt da es eine Slipway gibt. Diese ist aber sehr steil mit schlechtem Grip.
Wenn Sie sich abenteuerlustig fühlen, ist der Zugang zum Woodford River hier. Am Ende des schiffbaren Abschnitts befindet sich ein IWAI-Steg. Ein sehr schöner näturlicher Fluss, Natur pur.
