Opening Times for Sarsfield Lock Limerick

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of all craft that a seasonal lock keeper has been engaged for Sarsfield Lock, Shannon Navigation, Limerick.
The attached schedule details the times when the lock is operational for navigation purposes.
The lock keeper can also be contacted during the listed operational hours on the mobile phone number, 087 7972998. Outside of operational hours a message can be left on the mobile.
Due to resource limitations only in exceptional circumstances will the lock gates be operated outside of the listed hours of operation.‘

Lock Closures 23 March 2018

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters and owners of vessels that, due to essential staff training on Friday 23 March from 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs, navigation through locks on the Shannon Navigation system will not be possible.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience this may cause its customers.

Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigentümer darauf hinweisen, dass aufgrund der notwendigen Schulung des Personals am Freitag, den 23. März von 08:00 Uhr bis 18:00 Uhr die Navigation durch Schleusen des Shannon Navigationssystems nicht möglich sein wird.
Waterways Ireland bedauert jegliche Unannehmlichkeiten, die dies für seine Gäste und Kunden mit sich bringt.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters and owners of vessels that the Shannon Erne Waterway is closed to Navigation until further notice, due to a tragic incident at Lock 16.

Two Provinces Triathlon Event Sat 16 July 2016

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the swim element of the above event will take place immediately downstream of the Lanesboro Ballyleague bridge, on the eastern bank, on Sat 16 July between 0900hrs and 1300hrs.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when approaching this section of the river and heed any instructions issued by the event marshals.
