Waterways Ireland wishes to notify users of the Royal Canal feeder in Mullingar that the towpath between Royal Canal and St Oliver Plunkett GAA Club will be closed from 01 July to 15 August 2024 inclusive. This closure is to facilitate new culvert construction underneath The Royal Canal Supply channel.

Royal Canal – Mullingar, Royal Canal bis St Oliver Plunkett GAA Club Sperrung des Treidelpfades – 01. Juli bis 15. Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters of vessels and water users that weed cutting will take place over the coming days on the Lecarrow Canal. This work will commence today, Friday 28th June 2024.
Masters of vessels and water users are requested to proceed with additional caution and check weed traps regularly in the vicinity of this work.

Shannon Navigation, Lecarrow-Kanal, Mäharbeiten wegen Seegras – 28. Juni 2024 Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffsführer und Wassernutzer darauf hinweisen, dass in den kommenden Tagen auf dem Lecarrow Canal Unkrautschnittarbeiten durchgeführt werden. Diese Arbeiten beginnen am heutigen Freitag, den 28. Juni 2024. Schiffskapitäne und Wassernutzer werden gebeten, mit besonderer Vorsicht vorzugehen und den Weedprotector in der Nähe dieser Arbeiten regelmäßig zu kontrollieren. Die Shannon Navigation zwischen Mountshannon Harbour und Bushy Island / Cribby Islands wird am Samstag, den 13. Juli 2024, von 1000 bis 1600 Uhr gesperrt sein. Open Water Sea Swim Galway – 3,9 km lange Strecke Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Gästen für ihre Mitarbeit.
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and users of the Shannon Navigation of navigation and mooring restrictions in Carrick-on-Shannon to facilitate the Rowing Club Regatta on Sunday 4th August 2024.
The Regatta will be held on the 500 metres stretch of water immediately south of the town bridge commencing at 0900hrs and finishing at approx 1800hrs.
Craft wishing to make a through passage will be facilitated every 2 hrs approximately during the regatta.
Masters should note that ONLY vessels of an overall length of 22ft. / 6.8m or less will be permitted on the floating jetties from Wednesday 31st July to Sunday 4th August 2024.
This is necessary in the interest of marine safety and to facilitate the laying of the competition course.
Vessels berthed from Wednesday 31st July at 1600hrs will be required to remain in place until racing finishes at approx. 1800hrs on Sunday 4th August.
Masters are advised to proceed at slow speed and with due caution and to take note of advice from course marshals when passing through the area.

Carrick-on-Shannon – Ruderregatta, Navigations- und Liegeplatzbeschränkungen, Sonntag, 4. August 2024 Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne und Benutzer der Shannon Navigation auf Navigations- und Anlegebeschränkungen in Carrick-on-Shannon hinweisen, um die Regatta des Ruderclubs am Sonntag, den 4. August 2024 zu ermöglichen. Die Regatta wird auf der 500 Meter langen Wasserfläche unmittelbar südlich der Stadtbrücke stattfinden. Sie beginnt um 9.00 Uhr und endet um ca. 18.00 Uhr. Boote, die eine Durchfahrt wünschen, werden während der Regatta etwa alle 2 Stunden durchgelassen. Die Kapitäne sollten beachten, dass NUR Schiffe mit einer Gesamtlänge von 22ft. / 6,8m oder weniger von Mittwoch, den 31. Juli bis Sonntag, den 4. August 2024 auf den Schwimmstegen erlaubt sind. Dies ist im Interesse der Sicherheit auf See und zur Erleichterung der Verlegung des Wettkampfkurses erforderlich. Schiffe, die am Mittwoch, den 31. Juli um 16.00 Uhr angelegt haben, müssen bis zum Ende der Regatta am Sonntag, den 4. August um ca. 18.00 Uhr an ihrem Platz bleiben. Den Kapitänen wird empfohlen, mit langsamer Geschwindigkeit und mit der gebotenen Vorsicht zu fahren und die Hinweise der Streckenposten zu beachten, wenn sie das Gebiet passieren.
