Barrow Navigation

Carlow

Events on Sun 19th and Sun 26th May 2024

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels that the events will take place on the Barrow Navigation at Carlow as follows:

- Kerala House Boat Race will take place on 19th May 2024.
- National Series Sprint Distance – Swimming on 26th May 2024. There will be 10 kayaks for swimmers’ safety and a civil defence boat.

Masters of vessels are requested to proceed with additional caution in the vicinity of the events and obey safety boat instructions.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

  - National Series Sprint Distance – Schwimmen am 26. Mai 2024. Zur Sicherheit der Schwimmer werden 10 Kajaks und ein Zivilschutzboot zur Verfügung stehen.

Die Schiffsführer werden gebeten, in der Nähe der Veranstaltungen zusätzliche Vorsicht walten zu lassen und den Anweisungen des Sicherheitsbootes Folge zu leisten.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

14th Lock – Devonshire Bridge

Lock Closure

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels that the 14th Lock on the Grand Canal has been closed with immediate effect. Navigation through the lock is not possible at this time.
Further Marine Notices will be issued as required.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Grand Canal, 14. Schleuse – Devonshire-Brücke, Schließung der Schleuse
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne darauf hinweisen, dass die 14. Schleuse am Grand Canal mit sofortiger Wirkung geschlossen worden ist. Die Schifffahrt durch die Schleuse ist zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht möglich.
Weitere Marine Notices werden bei Bedarf herausgegeben.
Waterways Ireland bedauert jegliche Unannehmlichkeiten, die dadurch entstehen können, und dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Ordinary Summer Levels in all areas

Cautionary warning

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that water levels in all areas north of Lough Ree are now at Ordinary Summer Level.Water levels on the Shannon Navigation south of Lough Ree are approaching Ordinary Summer Level.
Water levels are expected to continue to lower in the coming weeks.
Masters of vessels, particularly those with deep drafts, are advised to navigate with additional caution and to remain within the navigation at all times.

Shannon Navigation, Gewöhnliche Sommerpegel in allen Gebieten,
Vorsorgliche Warnung
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass die Wasserstände in allen Gebieten nördlich von Lough Ree jetzt den gewöhnlichen Sommerpegel erreicht haben.
Die Wasserstände auf der Shannon Navigation südlich von Lough Ree nähern sich dem gewöhnlichen Sommerpegel.
Es wird erwartet, dass die Wasserstände in den kommenden Wochen weiter sinken werden.
Den Kapitänen von Schiffen, insbesondere von solchen mit großem Tiefgang, wird empfohlen, besonders vorsichtig zu navigieren und jederzeit innerhalb der Navigation zu bleiben.

Lock Closure – Monday 13th May to Saturday 18th May 2024.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels that the 30th Lock on the Grand Canal will be closed for one week from Monday 13th May to Saturday 18th May 2024. Navigation through the Lock will not be possible during this time.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffsführer darauf hinweisen, dass die 30. Schleuse am Grand Canal von Montag, den 13. Mai bis Samstag, den 18. Mai 2024 für eine Woche geschlossen wird. Die Schifffahrt durch die Schleuse wird während dieser Zeit nicht möglich sein.

Inny River

OPW Water flow measuring event

Wednesday 15 May 2024

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and users of the Shannon Navigation that the Office of Public Works Hydrometric section is holding a water flow measurement regatta on Wednesday, 15th May 2024 from 0800hrs to 1500hrs on the downstream side of the floating pontoon located at the Red Bridge, River Inny, Co Longford.
The event will take place from the jetties at the Red Bridge downstream for a distance of 200 metres.
Masters of Vessels and users of the Inny River are requested to proceed with additional caution during the event.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation.

Shannon Navigation, Inny River, OPW Wasserstandsmessung, Mittwoch, 15. Mai 2024
Waterways Ireland möchte Schiffskapitäne und Benutzer der Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass die hydrometrische Abteilung des Office of Public Works am Mittwoch, den 15. Mai 2024 von 8.00 bis 15.00 Uhr auf der stromabwärts gelegenen Seite des schwimmenden Pontons an der Red Bridge, River Inny, Co Longford, eine Regatta zur Messung des Wasserdurchflusses durchführen wird.
Die Veranstaltung findet von den Anlegestellen an der Red Bridge stromabwärts über eine Strecke von 200 Metern statt.
Schiffskapitäne und Benutzer des Inny werden gebeten, während der Veranstaltung mit besonderer Vorsicht vorzugehen.
