Masters and users of the Shannon Navigation are advised that the Athlone Boat Club rowing regatta will take place:
on Sat 16th June from 0800 hrs until 1900 hrs, on Killinure Lough.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when in this area to avoid any upset to rowing craft which have a small amount of freeboard.
Masters are further requested to note any advice given by race marshals when approaching the course.
Laying and removal of the course will take place between 11th and 16th June.

Die Kapitäne und Benutzer der Shannon Navigation werden darauf hingewiesen, dass die Ruderregatta des Athlone Boat Club am 16. Juni von 8.00 bis 19.00 Uhr auf dem Killinure Lough stattfinden wird. Die Kapitäne werden gebeten, in diesem Bereich mit langsamer Geschwindigkeit und minimalem Waschgang vorzugehen, um zu vermeiden, dass Ruderboote, die eine geringe Menge an Freibord haben, gestört werden. Masters and users of the Shannon Navigation are advised that the south eastern mooring at Coosan Pt, Killenure Lough will be out of bounds to all craft from Fri 13th until Mon 16th. Jun to facilitate the laying of the Athlone Boat Club rowing regatta course and the running of the races which will finish in close proximity to this mooring.

Shannon Swim
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon Navigation that the “Shannon Swim” event will take place in Athlone on Sat 22nd. Jun between 1800 hrs and 2000hrs.
The start of the swimming course will be in the vicinity of the Athlone By-Pass (M6) bridge and will proceed downriver to the Athlone Town bridge.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when in this area of the navigation and to note any advice given by race marshals and safety boat crew when approaching the course.
