Construction of new floating boardwalk at Acres Lake and extension of towpath from Drumhauver Bridge to Acres Lake
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that the above works are planned to commence on the 1st March, 2017, and will be ongoing for four months.
Access to mooring at Acres Lake and the adjacent car park will be restricted during the period.
Jetties will be closed from the 1st March to the 28th April to facilitate construction works.
Vessels approaching Acres Lake during the period of the works should do so with care and abide by any instructions given by the works supervisory staff.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the above event will take place on Fri 29th Jul 2016 from Drumshanbo Lock commencing at 1100hrs
A large fleet of Heritage Boats will assemble at Drumshanbo Lock at 1000hrs for the formal launch of the Waterways Ireland Heritage Plan. Thereafter the fleet will proceed southwards towards Leitrim Village to arrive by 1500hrs.
Masters should proceed at slow speed when approaching this stretch of waterway during the event and note any directions issued by the organisers and safety marshals controlling the event.
Masters are advised that delays along the Lough Allen Canal from Battlebridge will be experienced during the event.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the above event will take place on Sat 11th Oct 2014 from Acres Lake at 12 noon.
A large fleet of canoeists will assemble at Drumshanbo Lock at 1130hrs and proceed to Acres Lake for 1200hrs for the formal launch of the Waterways Ireland Blueway Canoe Trail. Thereafter the fleet will proceed downstream towards Leitrim Village to arrive by 1500hrs.
Masters should proceed at slow speed when approaching this stretch of waterway during the event and note any directions issued by the organisers and safety marshals controlling the event. Masters are reminded to keep their wash low to avoid upsetting canoes and other low freeboard craft associated with the event.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that works to upgrade the fixed pier and access ramp to the floating moorings at Acres Lake, Drumshanbo will commence on Wed 13th November 2013.
There will be no access or mooring permitted at the floating moorings, by land or water, during the upgrade works which are due to be complete by 20th December 2013.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused during these works and advises that alternative mooring facilities are close by at Drumshanbo Lock.
